Huaihua vocational and Technical College

Huaihua vocational and technical college is a public full-time institution of higher learning established by the former Anjiang Agricultural College of Hunan Province and Huaihua mechanical and electrical engineering school. In April 2003, it was approved by Hunan Provincial People's government and put on record by the Ministry of education. The Provincial Department of agriculture and Huaihua Municipal People's government to build, city government based management system. The college is the birthplace of hybrid rice, and Yuan Longping, academician of Chinese Academy of engineering, is the honorary president.

The school is located in Huaihua, a transportation hub city in the west of Hunan Province. At present, there are three railways in Hunan Guizhou, zhiliu and Chongqing Huaihua, and two national highways 209 and 320 intersect here, adjacent to the navigable Zhijiang airport, Zhangjiajie, a famous scenic spot at home and abroad, and Fenghuang in Western Hunan. Courtyard headquarters is located in the west of the city Wushui River, close to mountains and rivers, convenient transportation, beautiful scenery.

The college now covers an area of 591629 square meters, with a total construction area of 1431.01 million square meters, with fixed assets of 150 million yuan, teaching equipment of 16.399 million yuan, 298000 books and more than 300 Chinese and foreign periodicals. At present, the college has 409 in-service staff, including 260 full-time and part-time teachers, 100 with sub senior titles or above, and 33 with master's degree or above.

The college enrolls students from 19 provinces and cities in China, with 4609 full-time vocational college students.

The college has nine teaching departments: mechanical and automotive engineering department, electronic and electrical engineering department, computer and Information Engineering Department, business management department, environment and Biotechnology Department, animal science and Technology Department, basic course department, political theory department and architectural engineering department. It has set up 28 junior college majors with manufacturing, finance and economics, electronic information, agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and fishery as the main majors, supplemented by culture and education majors. Each major has complete experimental and practical training equipment. The mold design and manufacturing major of the college has passed the provincial acceptance, and is one of the 50 teaching reform pilot majors in Colleges and universities of Hunan Province. The college has 12 training centers, 65 on campus experimental training rooms, 40 off campus training bases and 1 campus network. There are well qualified hybrid rice research institutes and automobile driver training schools.

With the spirit of Longping as the banner, the college carries forward the tradition of Academician Yuan Longping's combination of teaching and scientific research, adheres to the combination of production, study and research, and forms a distinctive feature of the integration of teaching, scientific research and technology promotion. The university has also trained and trained a large number of outstanding talents, such as Li Bihu (National Science and technology expert with outstanding contribution, winner of national special Invention Award), Li Yucai (Northern cotton king), Chen Jinping (China's first doctoral supervisor in Food Science). In the past 20 years, the college has won 46 scientific research achievements awards, including 8 national awards and 24 provincial and ministerial awards. The research achievements of the Institute of hybrid rice of Hunan University have been popularized in 16 provinces (regions) of China, with planting area of 420 million mu, grain yield of more than 40 billion kg and profits and taxes of more than 10 billion yuan. They have made important contributions to the development of agriculture and rural economy in Hunan Province and even the whole country, and enjoy a high reputation at home and abroad.

Since its establishment, the college has been adhering to the school running philosophy of "prospering the college with quality, establishing the college with talents, strengthening the college with scientific research and invigorating the college with industry". Guided by the principle of "advocating morality, ability, precision and promising", the college has made great efforts to improve students' practical ability and practical work level, and attached great importance to the cultivation of students' comprehensive quality. The campus culture of the college is prosperous, and there are more than 30 student associations. The college has a national vocational skill appraisal institute, which is responsible for the training, appraisal and examination of vocational certificates. It has skills appraisal qualifications for 25 professional types of work, including Secretary, accountant, e-commerce, florist, horticulturist, lathe worker, fitter, welder and electrician. The qualified rate of training reaches 90%. The system of multiple certificates is implemented for graduates.
