Sichuan Vocational College of cultural industry is a public full-time general college registered by the Ministry of education, approved by the people's Government of Sichuan Province and in charge of the Propaganda Department of the Sichuan provincial Party committee. It is the first independent cultural industry college in China to cultivate high-end skilled professionals, the first batch of educational informatization pilot units in Sichuan Province, and the excellent journalism and communication personnel education and training in Sichuan Province Planned University, the key training institution of Sichuan provincial demonstrative higher vocational college construction plan. Sichuan Cultural Industry Vocational College, Sichuan cadre correspondence college, Sichuan propaganda and cultural cadre training center and Sichuan Cultural Industry Development Research Center are operating in a unified mode of organization and management.

The main campus is located in Huayang, Tianfu new town, Chengdu City, 12 kilometers away from the central urban area of Chengdu, with a campus area of more than 570 Mu and a total of more than 7500 full-time students. The school has a team of teachers with good political quality, excellent professional skills, strong practical ability and meeting the needs of higher vocational education. There are 434 teaching staff, including 71 teachers with the title of deputy high or above. At the same time, a group of off campus experts, professors and creative design masters are employed as visiting professors.

At present, the school has 10 teaching units, including school of culture and business, School of film and television, School of cultural communication, School of intangible cultural heritage, School of digital technology, School of culture and Museum, School of animation, School of culture and tourism, basic teaching department and School of continuing education, with 48 majors (including directions). The school has 7 practice teaching centers with distinctive characteristics, including 79 training rooms (Studios) and 75 off campus practice bases. Among them, the practice teaching center in the school includes the cultural operation and management practice teaching center, the film and television media practice teaching center, the digital art design practice teaching center, the cultural and museum art practice teaching center, the performing art practice teaching center, the new media art space practice teaching center, and the fashion design practice teaching center.

The school focuses on cultivating high-end skilled talents in cultural undertakings and cultural industry operation and management, creative design, film and television communication, cultural and museum art, cultural tourism, Intangible Cultural Heritage Inheritance and innovation, and strives to build a distinctive and first-class cultural industry vocational college in China.
