Guangdong Environmental Protection Engineering Vocational College is a full-time public higher vocational college established in February 2010 with the approval of the provincial people's government. It is mainly characterized by cultivating high skilled talents in environmental protection, energy saving, low-carbon and related majors. It is subordinate to the Department of environmental protection of Guangdong Province. The college is located at No. 98, Guidan West Road, Nanhai District, Foshan City, covering an area of about 450 mu. With beautiful environment and complete teaching and living facilities, the college is an energy-saving demonstration unit and environmental education base of Guangdong Province.

Focusing on the work of environmental protection center and cultivating high-quality technical talents needed by economic and social development, the college has nine teaching departments, including Department of environmental science, Department of environmental monitoring, Department of environmental engineering, Department of civil engineering, Department of circular economy and low-carbon economy, Department of mechanical and electrical engineering, Department of environmental art and service, Department of ecological environment and Department of food engineering. According to the concept of the whole process management of environmental protection, 29 majors and 38 professional directions have been set up, and a professional system covering from the source of environmental protection and clean production to the intermediate circular economy to the end project management and its extension has been established, with nearly 10000 students. At present, the college has one brand specialty and three characteristic specialties in Guangdong Province; it has two capacity-building projects of professional service industry development supported by central finance, one key training base and one key laboratory supported by provincial environmental protection special fund.

The college focuses on building a "double qualification" teaching team with reasonable quantity and structure. There are nearly 500 teaching staff. 87% of the full-time teachers have master's degree or above. Many of them have been awarded the honorary titles of "national excellent teachers" and "excellent teachers in southern Guangdong". Academician Peng Ping'an, academician Liu Changming, academician Chen Shupeng and other domestic famous experts and scholars, as well as more than 70 industry front-line senior engineers are invited as visiting professors of the college, so that the college's specialty, discipline construction and teaching quality are always at the forefront of the industry.

In recent years, the college has been among the best in the national water environment monitoring skills competition of higher vocational colleges, with the motto of "morality, industry, innovation and action", adhering to the guiding ideology of "education oriented, moral education first and all-round development", highlighting the cultivation of students' vocational skills, promoting learning and teaching by competition.
