Guangxi Normal University of science and technology

The predecessor of Guangxi Normal University of science and Technology (hereinafter referred to as "Guangxi science and technology teachers") is Yishan normal college, which was founded in 1958. After the merger with Liuzhou normal college in 1959, it was renamed Liuzhou normal college. In 1960, it moved from Yishan to Liuzhou to run a school. In 1962, the school was suspended in the national adjustment of colleges and universities. In 1970, Liuzhou normal school was established on the basis of Liuzhou national agricultural technology school. In 1982, Liuzhou Teachers' training college was set up in the school. In 1984, it was upgraded to Liuzhou normal college. In 1994, it was renamed Liuzhou Teachers College. In 2005, Liuzhou school of Finance and economics was merged. It started to run in Laibin in 2012 and was upgraded to Guangxi Normal University of science and technology in 2015.

The school covers an area of 1617.1 mu, including 1010.1 mu of Laibin campus and 607 mu of Liuzhou campus. Currently, there are 10640 full-time students, 13 secondary colleges and 53 majors, including 10 undergraduate majors and 43 Higher Vocational Majors. There are 475 full-time teachers in the University, including 186 teachers with senior professional titles (44 with senior professional titles), accounting for 39.16%; 224 teachers with graduate degree and master's degree or above (14 with doctor's degree), accounting for 47.16%; and 1 doctoral supervisor. "Double qualification" teachers and part-time teachers accounted for 45% and 31% of full-time teachers respectively. In recent years, the university has obtained one teaching team at the autonomous region level, two majors supported by the central finance, seven key majors at the autonomous region level, four excellent courses at the autonomous region level, one demonstration training base for Higher Vocational Education in Guangxi, and three training bases for Higher Vocational Education in Guangxi. The university has been identified as the key training base for teacher education in Guangxi. He has undertaken 48 teaching reform projects of Guangxi Higher Education in the new century and won 6 teaching achievement awards at the autonomous region level. Among them, he has presided over and participated in 5 projects of National Natural Science Foundation of China and 5 projects of Guangxi Natural Science Foundation, and won 6 scientific research awards of autonomous region. He has published 589 papers in Chinese core journals, 190 papers cited by SCI, EI and ISTP, and 125 textbooks and works. Journal of Guangxi Normal University of science and technology has been rated as the national and regional excellent social science journal for many times. The school has been successively rated as the national advanced collective in implementing the national physical exercise standard implementation measures, the national advanced unit in implementing the sports work regulations, the national advanced collective in "three visits to the countryside", the safe and civilized campus of Guangxi Colleges and universities, and the regional advanced collective in the employment of college graduates. In 2016, it was listed as a pilot school for the overall transformation and development of new undergraduate schools in Guangxi by the Education Department of the autonomous region.

At present, the school seizes the development opportunity and firmly takes the road of transformation and development. In August 2016, the University was selected as one of the first batch of Pilot Universities of China's "100 schools project" according to the Ministry of education data, and has realized substantial cooperation with national well-known enterprises such as Beijing Zhongguancun Software Park, Tsinghua University enlightenment Holding Co., Ltd. and Sinotech Shuguang. Through the efforts in the next few years, the school will be built into a Local Application-oriented Undergraduate College with distinctive characteristics to cultivate basic education, vocational education teachers and application-oriented talents.
