Jiangxi Industrial Vocational and technical college is one of the first batch of public full-time comprehensive higher vocational colleges set up independently in Jiangxi Province approved by the Ministry of education in 1999. It is a model higher vocational college in Jiangxi Province. Founded in 1954, the college has gone through the stages of adjustment, upgrading, merger and renaming. It has a history of more than 60 years and occupies an important position in the overall layout of Higher Vocational Education in Jiangxi Province and even in the whole country.

The college is located in Nanchang, a famous historical and cultural city in the south of the Yangtze River. It has three campuses (Yaohu campus, Qingshanhu campus and Gaoxin campus), covering an area of 460000 square meters. Each campus has complete life services and sports facilities, especially Yaohu campus is located in Changdong University Park of Nanchang City, adjacent to the beautiful Aixi Lake and Yaohu lake, with beautiful environment, fresh air and convenient transportation, which is an ideal place for students to study and live.

The college has strong faculty, reasonable team structure and rich teaching experience. At present, there are 563 full-time teachers, 144 graduate students with doctor's and master's degrees, 121 professors and associate professors (senior engineers), 166 double qualified teachers, 2 provincial excellent teaching teams, 3 provincial famous teachers and 13 provincial young and middle-aged backbone teachers. In the past three years, the college has undertaken five national projects, completed more than 40 provincial projects, and built five provincial quality courses and 30 college level network courses.

The college has a textile and clothing branch, mechanical and electrical engineering branch, electronic and Information Engineering Branch, architecture and art branch, economic management branch and basic teaching department, technical secondary school and other secondary teaching units. There are 11000 students in all kinds of colleges and universities, with about 40 majors, including dyeing and finishing technology, clothing and apparel design, textile design, computer network technology, business English, etc. five majors are demonstration majors of Higher Vocational Colleges in Jiangxi Province; dyeing and finishing technology and modern textile technology are characteristic majors of colleges and universities in Jiangxi Province; Four majors, including mechatronics, software technology, food nutrition and testing, clothing and clothing design, are the key construction majors of provincial higher vocational education, while 12 majors, including numerical control technology, accounting, e-commerce, logistics management, textile inspection and trade, and interior art design, are the college level teaching reform majors. In recent years, more than 10 specialties of our college and large enterprises in Chang Zhu Min region have set up characteristic classes of school enterprise cooperation, adopting the directional training mode to jointly cultivate practical skilled talents meeting the needs of enterprises; at the same time, further strengthening school local cooperation has provided talent support and intellectual support for the local economic development of Jiangxi Province.

The total value of the college's fixed assets is 299 million yuan; the total value of teaching instruments and equipment is 52.0955 million yuan, with an average student value of 5442 yuan; the library has 543000 various books and 6144 GB e-books, with an average student value of 60 books. There are 66 on campus experimental training places and 126 off campus training bases with various large enterprises. There are two construction projects supported by the central government, two innovative experimental zones of talent training mode in Jiangxi Province, two professional skills training centers, and one comprehensive training base in Jiangxi Province.
