East China Jiaotong University

East China Jiaotong University is a teaching and research university with transportation as its characteristic, rail as its core and multi-disciplinary coordinated development. In 1971, the state decided to merge the locomotive and rolling stock Department of Shanghai Jiaotong University and the railway engineering major of Tongji University into Shanghai Railway College, renamed East China Jiaotong University, and moved to Jiangxi. In 1978, East China Jiaotong University and Shanghai Railway Institute continued to run their own schools. The University was originally under the Ministry of railways. In 2000, it was transformed into a "central and local co construction, local management oriented" University. It is a national "Midwest university basic capacity construction project" University. It is a key university in Jiangxi Province to strengthen the construction, and a doctoral degree authorized unit.

The school is located in Nanchang, Jiangxi Province, where the military flag is raised. The campus is close to huaihu lake, mountains and rivers, with a hundred birds singing, flowers blooming and trees flourishing. It is a landscape school suitable for teaching, learning and living. It covers an area of 2816 mu, with various building areas of 725000 square meters, and the total value of teaching and scientific research instruments and equipment is 285 million yuan. The library has a collection of 2.13 million paper books and 2.33 million electronic documents. It is a first-class reference station for literature retrieval of Chinese academic journals.

The university has two first-class discipline doctoral programs, 16 first-class discipline master programs, and nine professional degree authorization programs, such as business administration and Engineering (including 12 fields), which are the promotion and exemption units for master's degree postgraduates. There are 18 colleges and 61 undergraduate majors, covering 8 disciplines including engineering, economics, management, arts, science, law, education and art, including 4 national characteristic majors and 3 national outstanding engineer pilot majors. Is the national intellectual property training (Jiangxi) base. At present, there are more than 23700 full-time students and 1700 faculty members, including 530 professors and associate professors. There are more than 80 high-end talents, such as the national "ten thousand talents plan", "ten million talents project", national excellent teachers, national excellent educators, Ministry of education's "new century excellent talents support plan", Ministry of science and technology's "young and middle-aged leading talents in scientific and technological innovation", enjoying the special allowance of the State Council, and "Jinggang scholars" distinguished professors.

The university has always regarded talent training as the fundamental task of running a school, and formed a complete talent training system from undergraduate to master and then to doctor. In 2015, the school's reform and practice of multi-dimensional interactive talent training for grass-roots and front-line personnel won the second prize of national teaching achievement. The training mode of national defense students explored and formed has been approved as the National Talent Training Mode Innovation Experimental Zone, and has been promoted by the Ministry of education and the General Political Department to colleges and universities across the country. It has established a national experimental teaching demonstration center, a national college students' off campus practice education base, and a college students' science and technology entrepreneurship Incubation Park. It has realized the positive interaction between talent training and job demand, and the docking of supply and demand. It is one of the first batch of top 50 universities in China. Since 2015, the full credit system has been implemented, and the quality of talent training has been widely recognized by the society. The one-time employment rate of graduates has been in the forefront of universities in Jiangxi Province for 10 years. The university has been rated as the national advanced group in the employment of ordinary university graduates, won the National University with typical employment experience, and has implemented batch enrollment of Undergraduates in 27 provinces. It has cultivated a large number of excellent students represented by Xu Gang, the first "person of the year of Chinese college students" in Jiangxi Province, Zhang Hailong, the star pacesetter of Chinese college students' self-improvement, Ouyang Zili, the national upward good youth, Xing Rong, the national champion of CCTV I love national defense, and Zhang Haiqiang, the winner of China Youth Science and Technology Innovation Award.

The school always pursues a new realm of scientific research and technological innovation. It has 30 science and technology platforms at or above the provincial and ministerial level, such as postdoctoral research mobile station, postdoctoral research workstation, engineering research center of the Ministry of education, academician workstation, 2011 provincial Collaborative Innovation Center, etc. It has won a number of science and technology awards at or above the provincial and ministerial level, represented by the first and second prizes of national science and technology progress and the first prize of Humanities and social sciences of the Ministry of education. Over the past three years, it has won 45 provincial and ministerial level scientific research achievement awards, undertaken more than 1300 scientific research projects at all levels, including more than 510 "863 Plan", "973 Plan", National Natural Science Foundation and provincial and ministerial level projects; published more than 3100 papers in domestic and foreign academic journals, of which more than 1170 were searched by SCI, EI and ISTP; obtained 65 invention patents and 176 utility model patents; and has won more than 100 patents; 268 books and textbooks have been published.

The school pays attention to the integration of humanistic spirit and scientific spirit. It has been awarded the national advanced unit of College Students' mental health education and Jiangxi advanced unit of comprehensive management of social security for 13 consecutive years. The psychological quality development and training center of colleges and universities and the youth mental health education and guidance center have successively settled down in Colleges and universities. Kongmuhu forum, which was first set up in Colleges and universities throughout the province, was honored as "one hundred forum" of Campus Edition. National fitness and competitive sports have developed harmoniously and achieved remarkable results. Tennis team, track and field team and wushu team have won gold medals in major international and domestic sports events for many times.

The University attaches importance to international education. With North Arizona State University in the United States, St. Petersburg national Jiaotong University in Russia and other more than 20 universities, we have carried out various forms of cooperative education, curriculum docking, credit transfer and teacher-student exchange projects.
