Tianjin Light Industry Vocational Technical College

Tianjin Light Industry Vocational and technical college is a public full-time ordinary higher vocational and technical college established in 2001 with the approval of Tianjin Municipal People's government and the record of the Ministry of education. The college is located in Tianjin Haihe Education Park, a national vocational education reform and innovation demonstration area. It covers an area of 800 Mu and a building area of 160000 square meters. With good teaching conditions and perfect infrastructure, it creates a superior learning, practice and living environment for students.

With the guiding ideology of "paying attention to connotation construction, basing on industry development and serving Binhai New Area", the college has taken a road of brand construction and characteristic development. The college is an advanced unit of Vocational Education in Tianjin and a model vocational college in Tianjin. In 2010, it was identified by the Ministry of education and the Ministry of finance as the construction unit of one hundred national model backbone vocational colleges. The college has four secondary colleges, including mechanical engineering, electronic information and automation, economic management and art engineering, with 27 majors. In the construction projects of national backbone higher vocational colleges, mold design and manufacturing, CNC equipment application and maintenance, environmental art design, and business management are the key construction majors. There are 54 training rooms, 58 multi-media classrooms, more than 100 training bases inside and outside the school, 15 various skill testing centers and training certification institutions, which can carry out skill training and vocational qualification certification for 43 projects. More than 87% of the college graduates have obtained the professional qualification certificate, and the employment and starting salary have reached the expected goal of the graduates. The first employment rate of all previous graduates has been more than 96%. In 2011, Mycos, an independent third-party professional research company, investigated the social needs and training quality of all 2010 college graduates in Tianjin. The comprehensive index of employment competitiveness of our college ranked first in the city's higher vocational colleges.

The college has a double professional teaching team led by famous teachers and experts: 102 full-time teachers, including professors and associate professors, 2 municipal excellent teaching teams, 2 municipal famous teachers, 10 masters and experts awarded by the State Council, named by the state and enjoying government subsidies, and 130 enterprise experts in related fields.

The college has carried out exchanges with colleges and universities in more than ten countries such as the United States, Germany and Canada. In 2011, the college established the Australia China Training Center and signed an education cooperation agreement with TAFE ilawarra college in New South Wales, Australia. It not only introduces foreign high-quality teaching resources, but also provides students with opportunities to study in developed countries of vocational education. In the same year, he and the University of South Queensland jointly launched a new international education project, namely "upgrading from junior college to master's degree". Students who complete their studies in our college according to the teaching plan can obtain the higher vocational diploma of Tianjin Light Industry Vocational and technical college. After going through the relevant overseas procedures and obtaining the Australian visa, they can go to Australia to study for a master's degree, which helps the majority of students to obtain overseas education opportunities and broaden the employment channel.

Since 2008, the college has successfully undertaken the national vocational college skills competition for four consecutive years. Since 2007, 40 students have won the National Skills Competition Awards, and more than 60 students have won the Tianjin skills competition awards. The number of patent applications has reached 340, ranking first in the city's higher vocational colleges.
