Hubei Water Resources Technical College

Hubei water conservancy and hydropower vocational and technical college is a public university approved by the people's Government of Hubei Province and registered by the Ministry of education of the people's Republic of China. Its predecessor is Hubei water conservancy and hydropower school, which was founded in 1952. The college is also the industry designated training center of the Ministry of water resources and the vocational skill appraisal center of Hubei water conservancy and hydropower industry. As an important water conservancy and hydropower talent training base in China and Hubei Province, the Hubei provincial government, the Provincial Department of water resources and the Provincial Department of education attach great importance to the construction of the college. Since the 1990s, the construction of the college has been listed as a key construction project in Hubei Province. At present, the campus covers an area of 641.91 mu, with a total construction area of 163800 square meters. Teaching buildings, libraries, student apartments, canteens, stadiums and other facilities are complete. There are 52 laboratories and practice places, and more than 20 professional practice bases throughout the province.

The college actively adapts to the situation of market economy and sets up majors according to social needs. Now it has departments of water conservancy engineering, construction engineering, mechanical and electrical engineering, electronic information engineering, electric power engineering, business management, and continuing education. The college's professional teaching plan is complete and standardized. It has set up 28 higher vocational (junior college) majors, including water conservancy and hydropower construction engineering, construction engineering technology, mechatronics, electrical automation technology, applied electronic technology, computer art design, etc., with nearly 8000 students.
