Jiangsu Economic and Trade Vocational and technical college, formerly known as Jiangsu business management cadre college, has a history of more than 50 years. It is a full-time public university to cultivate applied, compound and entrepreneurial high skilled business management talents. It has become one of the most important training bases for modern service talents in Jiangsu. In 2005, he got the "excellent" grade in the "evaluation of talent training level of Higher Vocational Colleges" in Jiangsu Province. In 2007, it was identified as the first batch of Model Higher Vocational Colleges in Jiangsu Province by the Provincial Department of education.

The college has two campuses, Guanghua and Jiangning, covering an area of more than 1048 Mu and a construction area of nearly 350000 square meters. The college has nine departments and five colleges, including the Department of business administration, the Department of art and design, the Department of trade and economics, the Department of accounting, the Department of information technology, the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, the Department of applied foreign languages, the Department of tourism management, the Department of physical education, the school of international education, the school of culture and art, the school of engineering and technology, the school of industrial management for the elderly, and the school of continuing education. A total of 58 majors (or professional direction) have been set up. The major setting is based on business circulation and modern service industry, with the combination of Arts, science, engineering and arts. It has formed a pattern of common college, adult college, adult undergraduate, studying abroad and other educational levels. At present, there are 612 full-time teachers, 181 teachers with senior titles, and 75% of them are "double qualified". At present, there are more than 14000 full-time students.

College modern education facilities. There are more than 5000 computers, 150 multimedia classrooms, 18 e-reading rooms, 20 books and periodicals rooms and 120 laboratories. The library has a collection of more than 1.2 million books and nearly a thousand newspapers and periodicals at home and abroad. There are modern educational technology building, comprehensive experimental building, college students' activity center, 400m standard plastic playground, indoor gymnasium, etc. The dormitory implements apartment management with advanced facilities and superior conditions. Telephone, Internet access to each dormitory, dormitory has an independent bathroom and equipped with shower facilities.

The college has always attached great importance to the cultivation of students' comprehensive quality and professional ability, and paid close attention to the teaching quality. The college has built 8 on campus training bases and 104 off campus training bases, including the national demonstrative modern circulation engineering training base, food nutrition and safety training base, provincial digital media and modern business training base. It further ensures that the students have strong points in employment, the ability to start a business, the foundation for further study, and the advantages of going abroad. In the past five years, the employment rate of college graduates has reached more than 99%. It has been rated as the advanced unit of graduates' employment by Jiangsu Provincial Department of education for many times, and was confirmed as the model school of entrepreneurship education for college students in Jiangsu Province by Jiangsu Provincial Department of education in early 2008.
