North China Electric Power University is a key construction University of the national "211 Project" directly under the Ministry of education. It is a national key university jointly constructed by the Ministry of education and the University Council composed of seven super large power enterprise groups, including the State Grid Corporation of China. The school was founded in 1958, formerly known as Beijing Electric Power University. In 1969, it moved to Hebei and later renamed as North China Electric Power University. In 1978, it was approved as a national key university by the State Council. In May 1995, with the approval of the former State Education Commission, North China Electric Power University and Beijing Institute of dynamic economics merged to form North China Electric Power University. The headquarters of the school is located in Beijing, with Baoding campus and integrated management.
The university has a complete set of specialties, complete teaching and scientific research conditions, doctoral, master and undergraduate education levels, and coordinated development with higher adult education.
