Octopus ocellatus
All brown, about 80 cm in length. The head is short and small, the eyes are developed, there are small spiny protrusions around the eyes, there is a mouth in the center of the head, and there is a mouth membrane around it. The mouth has a horny jaw shaped like a bird's beak. There are 4 pairs of wrists connected to the front of the head, with thick base and thin tip. The length of each wrist is similar. The lateral wrist is longer, the abdominal wrist is shorter, and there are many suckers inside, which are arranged in 2 rows. The third carpal stalk on the right side of male turns into reproductive wrist. The funnel tip is cylindrical and the funnel is W-shaped. The carcass is elliptic, connecting with the head; the back has sparse verrucous processes and obvious gray spots. The shells degenerated in the body cavity. There are ink sacs at the back of the mantle.
It lives in the sand mud sea bottom or reef crevices, lurks in the daytime, and comes out late to hunt crustaceans, shellfish and fish. It is distributed in the southeast coast of China.
