[plant morphology] perennial herb, about 30cm high. Bulb oblate spherical, about 1.5cm in diameter. Stem erect, glabrous, green, base purple. The basal leaves are 2 opposite, the middle ones are whorled, the upper ones are opposite or alternate, strip lanceolate, 5-6.5cm long, and the apex is curled. The basal leaves are 2, the apex is acute and not curled, and the width is 2.5-15mm. 1-6 flowers. Bracts 3, leaflike, apex curly, pollen red or dark blue; perianth piece 6, outer wheel 3, oblong, 2-2.2cm long, 7-8mm wide, inner wheel 3, obovate oblong, nectary nest protruding on the back of perianth piece, stamen about half of perianth piece, anther basifixed; pistil slightly shorter than stamen, style with hairs upward, stigma almost undivided. The capsule is 1.3cm long and 2cm wide with 3-4mm wide wings. The flowering period is from April to May and the fruiting period is from May to June.
It grows in the mountains with an altitude of 2200-2800m. It is mainly produced in Xinjiang and the Soviet Union.
