Herbs perennial, 70 cm tall. Underground stem white, brittle, with square, white mucus. Stems square, branched, all glabrous and smooth. Leaves opposite, ovate, lanceolate to elliptic, 5-10 cm long, 2-4.5 cm wide, apex acuminate to caudate acuminate, base cuneate to suborbicular, often downward to petiole, margin inconspicuous serrate.
