[plant morphology] Rhizoma Coptidis

Perennial herbs. The root is obconic and fleshy. Stem single or clustered, 15-20 cm high. Leaves alternate, basal petiole longer: leaves leathery, pinnately compound, leaflets 3-lobed or 3-lobed, last lobe apex obtuse, or slightly lobed. Raceme terminal. Capsule linear, membranous, yellow, 2-valved at maturity. The seeds are small.

Born on the rocks. It is distributed in Guizhou.
