Annual or biennial herbs, 30-60 cm high. The fibrous roots are slender and brown. Stem erect or base creeping, with adventitious roots. The leaves are papery, oval or oval in shape, 3-11cm long, with small teeth or microwaves on the margin. There are small white spots on the leaves, nodal hairs on both sides, and more veins. Flower single leaf axil; calyx joint is shallow tubular, upper split into 10 linear teeth, outside with curly hair; corolla white, joint is short tubular or shallow bell shaped, upper 5-lobed, lobes slightly lanceolate; stamen 5, born in the crown tube mouth; pistil 1. Berries globose. The flowering period is from July to August. The fruit period is from September to October.
It grows in the grass on the hillside and the edge of the forest, or in the half shade of the roadside.

[flavor] pungent, warm and slightly toxic.
[function indications] kill insects and remove poison. Treatment of rust ear sores, nose sores, carbuncle swelling sores poison.
