[plant morphology] Ranunculus hygroscopicus
Annual herb, the whole plant is woolly, gray white. Stems 15-40 cm high, solitary or clustered, erect or oblique. Lower leaves oblanceolate to linear, ca. 4 cm long, ca. 3 mm wide, apex obtuse, cuspidate, base narrow, entire, sessile; cauline leaves oblong, linear to lanceolate. The head inflorescence is dense at the top of stem and branch, spherical, arranged in racemose; the involucre bracts are 3-row, light yellow, lanceolate to long elliptic, membranous; the florets are yellow white; the marginal flowers are filiform, female; the disk flowers are bisexual, thicker and fruity. Achene oblong; dark brown, with fine spots and corolla. The flowering period is August. The fruiting period is September.
It grows in wet places such as alpine grassland and river bank. Distribution of northeast and Gansu, Inner Mongolia and other places.
