[plant morphology] evergreen shrub, up to 2m high. The cross section of root and stem is yellow, and the leaf is bitter. One pinnate compound leaves alternate, 15-30cm long; leaflets 3-9, leathery, lanceolate, 5-12cm long, 1-2.5cm wide, lateral leaflets of equal length, terminal leaflets the largest, all sessile, apex acute or acuminate, base narrowly cuneate, margin with 6-13 spiny sharp teeth; stipules small, exomorphic. Raceme erect, 4-8 ethnicities; sepals 9,3-whorled; petals yellow, 6-whorled; pedicel 1-4mm long. Berry round or oblong, 4-6 mm long, blue black, with white powder. The flowering period is from July to October.
Born in valley, forest wetland. It is distributed in Jiangsu, Hunan, Hubei, Sichuan, Zhejiang, Guangdong and Guangxi.
