Deciduous climbing shrubs. Single leaf opposite, papery, oblong ovate to oblong, 8-15 cm long and 4-7 cm wide, apex broadly acuminate, base rounded or broadly cuneate, entire, dark green above, glaucous below, densely milky, glabrous except for vein axils; petiole 2-7 cm long. Corymb terminal; flower 2-type; marginal sterile flower with only one large sepal, oblong or narrowly oblong, 3-4 cm long, apex obtuse, milky white, brown when old; pregnant flower small, sepal 4-5, petal 4-5, stamen 10, style 1. Capsule apically conical, with 10 ribs. Seeds numerous, linear.
