[plant morphology] Magnolia tomentosa
Perennial herbs, 50-100 cm high. Stems erect, all short hairy. The leaves on the stem are oval or elliptic in shape, 4-6 cm long and 1.5-2 cm wide, apex pointed or obtuse, basal part extending into short stalks or almost sessile, margin with serrations of different depths, with hairs below. Inflorescence arranged in corymbose, pedunculate, ca. 1.5 cm in diameter; involucre campanulate, bracts 3-row, hairy, outer row shorter, elliptic, inner row longer, linear; ligulate flower 1-row, white, female, tongue length about 7 mm, tube length about 2.5 mm; tubular flower yellow, bisexual, length about 6 mm, stamen 5, anther base obtuse and entire, ovary inferior, stigma, 2-lobed. Achenes hairy; corolla brownish yellow. It blooms in autumn.
It is distributed in East China and southwest China.
