[plant morphology] short stemmed Panax japonicus
Evergreen shrubs. Stem erect, spineless. Leaves alternate; long petiole, base enlarged; palmately compound, leaflets 5-7; leaflets elliptic, 2-5cm long, 8-15mm wide, apex acuminate, base cuneate, margin spiny serrate, upper main vein with soft teeth, lower light green. Flowers arranged in umbels, compound panicles; calyx 5-dentate; petals 5-valvate; stamens 5; ovary inferior. Drupe flat.
Born in shrubbery. Distributed in Guizhou, Sichuan, Hubei and other places.

[nature and taste] it is flat in nature and sweet in taste.
Functions and indications: expelling wind and removing dampness, removing blood stasis and generating new life. Treat fracture, rheumatism and bone pain.
[prescription selection] ① fracture treatment: first set the bone, then apply proper amount of Aesculus hepatica root to the affected area, and then apply three to five coins of Aesculus hepatica root to the affected area, steaming wine, twice a day.
② Treatment of rheumatism and bone pain: qijiaofengye, sanjiaofeng, sheretrogression, zijinniu, red Achyranthes bidentata, acanthopanax senticosus skin, simmer water to wash the affected area; and qijiaofenggen, sanjiaofeng, red Achyranthes bidentata, acanthopanax senticosus skin, simmer water or soak wine.
