Paiqiancao

[plant morphology] Paiqian tree, also known as liwanzi tree, Jianye agqian, qianchuanmu, qianpaimu and agqian.
Shrub, 0.6-1 m high. Branches slender, pilose. The lateral leaflets are 2 times smaller than the terminal ones, the apex is obtuse or subacute, the base is rounded, the edge is slightly wavy, leathery, green above, bald or pubescent on both sides; the petiole is 6-8 mm long. Raceme terminal and lateral, 8-30 cm or more long, composed of 12-60 umbels or clusters, each umbel hidden in 2 1-3 cm long round, leafy bracts; petiole 2-3 mm long, pubescent with calyx; calyx 2 mm long, cleft teeth lanceolate; corolla butterfly shaped, white, 6 mm long, flag petal elliptic, wing petal adnate to keel Petals; stamens 10, 2-bodied; pistils 1, style incurved. Pods oblong, glabrous or puberulent, margin ciliate, usually with 2 nodes. The flowering period is from July to September.
It grows in wasteland, hillside and sparse forest. Distributed in Guangdong, Guangxi, Fujian, Taiwan, Yunnan and other places.

[chemical constituents] the whole herb contains many tryptamine derivatives, such as toad venom tryptamine, N, n-dimethyltryptamine, N, n-dimethyltryptamine oxide, 5-methoxy-n-methyltryptamine, 5-methoxy-n, n-dimethyltryptamine, 5-methoxy-n, n-dimethyltryptamine oxide, and gramineine. The seeds contain emodin methyl ether, 1-glucose rhamnoside, galactose and mannan.

[usage and dosage] oral administration: decoct soup, 2-5 yuan (2-4 Liang fresh); or soak in wine. External use: tamping.

② Treatment of arthritis: paiqiancao two to four Liang, rice wine two Liang. Add some water and fry.
