[animal morphology] Sinonovacula longa

2 shells, long, thin, equal. The shell is 5-11 cm long and 6-7 times as long as its height. The top of the shell is located at the front end of the shell, the dorsal ventral margin is almost parallel, the middle part of the ventral margin is slightly concave, the front end of the shell is truncated, the back end is round, and the front end is slightly larger than the back end. The outer ligament is yellowish brown. The surface of the shell is smooth, with yellowish brown skin, obvious growth line, and sometimes folds at the back end. The inner surface of the shell is white or light yellow. The hinge is small and each shell has one main tooth. The anterior adductor scar is very slender, and the posterior adductor scar is slightly semicircular. The anterior part of the mantle is concave to the dorsal margin, and the mantle sinus is semicircular. It is well developed and columnar.

Living in shallow sea and mud beach. It is distributed in the Yellow Sea, Bohai Sea and South China Sea.
