Herbs annual, weak, 20-50 cm high, slightly hairy or nearly bald; branches scattered or lower part prostrate. Leaves opposite; ovate to ovate lanceolate, 2-5 cm long, entire, covered with transparent thinly hirsute hairs and numerous needle like crystalline lines. Flowers sessile, solitary in upper leaf axils; bracteoles leaflike, ovate, elliptic to spatulate, 1-1.5 cm long; calyx about 5 mm long, 5-lobed, lobes linear; corolla white or light blue, tubular, upper part expanded and one side swollen, lobes 5, 1.2-1.6 cm long, outside slightly hairy; stamens 2 long, 2 short, anthers 2-locular. Ovary superior, 2-locular. Capsule rod-shaped, about 1.2 cm long, each chamber has 4-6 seeds, gathered in the middle above. It blooms in autumn.
Born in the wild. It is distributed in Guangdong, Yunnan and other places.
