Perennial herb with red yellow juice. Rhizomes transverse. Leaf blade ovate heart-shaped, 3-9 cm long, 5-10 cm wide, pointed, margin undulate, turquoise above, grayish green below, basal veins 5-7, veinlets reticulate. The flower stems are drawn from the leaves, with a few flowers, 4 cm in diameter, forming a sparse cyme; the calyx is full of buds, the apex is long and acuminate, and it breaks and falls off at flowering; the petals are 4, white, obovate; the stamens are many, the filaments are thin, and the anthers are dark yellow; the pistils are green, the style is single, and the tip is 2-lobed. Capsule, many seeds. The flowering period is from April to May.
They are distributed in Hubei, Sichuan, Guizhou, Guangxi, Hunan, Jiangxi, Fujian and other places.
