Small perennial herbs, 6-10 cm high. The root is conical and the surface is rough. The rhizome is short. Stem from the rhizome issued a number of, purple red, with nodes, was fine tomentose. Basal leaves petiolate, lanceolate, margin obtuse serrate; stem leaves opposite, lanceolate or ovate lanceolate, apex obtuse, base gradually narrowed, margin obtuse serrate, leaf blade dark green, both sides covered with fine hairs. Flowers usually solitary, apical; corolla purple, lower lip veined, beak long, red, lower part inflated, curved like goose head. Capsule triangular lanceolate. Seeds oblong.
Born on hillside grassland. Distributed in Tibet, Sichuan and other places.
