[plant morphology] Rubus pulcherrima
Erect shrub, 1-1.5m high. The stem is reddish brown or brown, with scattered prickles, green branchlets and white powder. Single leaf alternate, shield shaped, oval, 7.5-17 cm long, 6.5-15 cm wide, palmately 3-5-lobed, middle lobe larger, base heart-shaped, margin irregularly serrate, with bristles on the top and pubescence on the bottom, dense along the vein; petiole 4.5-7.5 cm long, with hook like spikes; stipules ovate lanceolate. Single flower and opposite leaves, white, ca. 5 cm in diam., calyx lobes ovate lanceolate, margin sparsely toothed, with white sericeous hairs on both sides; stamens numerous, anthers yellowish brown. The aggregate fruit is cylindrical, 3-4.5cm long and orange red. The flowering period is from April to May. The fruit period is from June to July.
Born on hillside or gully. It is distributed in Anhui, Jiangxi, Hubei and other places.
