It is larger, about 3cm long and 5cm wide when spreading its wings. Red, with dark brown and yellowish brown markings. The head is big, black and triangular. One pair of compound eyes and three monocular eyes. Antennae 1 pair, slender curved. The front chest is yellowish brown, the middle chest and the back chest are dark brown, and the back of the front chest extends to the base of the wing. Wings 2 pairs, membranous, transparent, reddish brown. Feet 3 pairs, slender, 5 nodes. The abdomen is yellowish brown, long oval in shape, with dark brown transverse lines in the center and back of each abdominal segment.
Most of them gather in Chinese fir and Chinese juniper forests. In July and August, they nest and lay eggs. After hatching, the larvae pupate in September and gradually become adults.
It has a little poison.
