Dwarf evergreen shrub, 20-30 cm high. The stem is yellowish brown, densely hairy, with obvious stipule marks on the nodes, and grows obliquely upward. Single leaf opposite, obovate to oblong, 6-10 cm long, 2.5-4 cm wide, apex short pointed, base cuneate, lateral veins netted within the leaf margin, slightly raised below, hairy, especially on the veins; petiole about 1 cm long, hairy. Cyme terminal, flowers white. Berries are spherical or oval, as large as peas, and blue when ripe. It blooms in summer.
It grows in the shady and wet places in the mixed forest and the lower part of the hillside. It is distributed in Yunnan, Guangxi and other places.
