Guo Jingjing, born in Baoding, Hebei Province on October 15, 1981, is a former Chinese diving team athlete, world champion and Olympic champion.
In 1988, Guo Jingjing started diving training in Baoding, Hebei Province. In 1993, Guo Jingjing was selected into the national diving team. In 1996, Guo Jingjing participated in the Olympic Games for the first time and won the 5th place in the women's 10m platform. In 2000, Guo Jingjing won two silver medals in women's single 3M board and women's double 3M board at the Sydney Olympic Games. In 2004, Guo Jingjing won two gold medals in women's single 3M board and women's double 3M board in Athens Olympic Games, which made her a leader in Chinese diving. Guo Jingjing was born in an ordinary family in Baoding City, Hebei Province. She lived with her grandmother since childhood. Guo Jingjing's father, Guo Shuzhong, worked in the railway, and his mother, fan Yumei, was a worker in Lekai film factory.
