Duke Wu of Qin
Duke Wu of Qin? -In 678 BC, Ying surnamed Zhao, whose name is unknown, was born in Pingyang (today's Baoji City, Shaanxi Province), the eldest son of Duke Xian of Qin, his mother Lu Jizi, the elder brother of Duke Chu of Qin and Duke De of Qin, and the fifth monarch of the state of Qin in the spring and Autumn period (697-678 BC).
Duke Wu of Qin established the prince at the beginning. After the death of Duke Xian of Qin, the three commoners, such as Fuji, set up the son of Qin as the king of Qin. After Qin Dynasty, his son was killed by Fuji and others, and then he was able to ascend the throne. Zhu Fuji and other three families, set the power in the royal family. During the reign of Duke Wu of Qin, he conquered and annexed Mianzhu, Yingrong, Jirong, yiqurong, Zhai and tapir, and established a county system to manage the land. In the next year, Qin's power reached the Weihe River Basin in Guanzhong. Duke Wu of Qin was buried in Pingyang after his death, which was the first to establish the system of living people dying for death. As many as 66 people were buried with him. It is said to be located in the same mother's brother, Qin Degong.
Life of the characters
Duke Wu of Qin is the eldest son of Duke Xian of Qin (Duke Ning of Qin). His mother is Lu Jizi, and later he was appointed prince. Qin Xian Gong, the father of Qin Wu Gong, had three sons: the eldest son was Qin Wu Gong; the second son was Qin De Gong, whose mother was Lu Ji Zi; the third son was Qin Chu Zi.
In 704 B.C. (the 12th year of the Duke of Qin Xian), the Duke of Qin Xian died, and the eldest brother Fugi, Wei Lei and his three fathers abandoned the prince of Qin Wu and made him king. In 698 BC (the sixth year of Qin chuzi), the three fathers and others conspired to send people to assassinate Qin chuzi.
In 678 BC (the 20th year of Duke Wu of Qin), Duke Wu of Qin died and was buried in Pingyang, Yongyi. Qin Wu made public the precedent of burying with living people. After his death, he buried with 66 living people. A son of Duke Qin Wu, named Bai, failed to succeed him after his death and was granted the title of Pingyang. Duke Qin's younger brother, Duke Qin De, succeeded him.
Political initiatives
In 697 B.C. (Qinwu A.D.), the Duke of Qinwu led his army to attack Pengxi until the foot of Huashan Mountain.
In 695 B.C. (the third year of Duke Wu of Qin Dynasty), Duke Wu of Qin killed Sanfu and others on the ground that Sanfu and others assassinated Qin chuzi, and annihilated their three tribes.
In 688 BC (the tenth year of Duke Wu of Qin Dynasty), Duke Wu of Qin attacked the Rong people in Ying and Ji, and began to regard these two places as counties of the state of Qin.
In 687 B.C. (11th year of Duke Wu of Qin Dynasty), Duke Wu of Qin established Du and Zheng as counties; in the same year, Xiao Guo kingdom was destroyed.
