Huang Chaoqin
Huang Chaoqin (1897-1972), born in Tainan, Taiwan, is a famous politician in Taiwan. He graduated from Waseda University in 1923 and went to the University of Illinois to study abroad. He joined the Chinese Kuomintang in 1925 and obtained a master's degree in Political Science in 1926. Since 1928, he has served in the overseas Chinese Affairs Bureau of the Ministry of foreign affairs of the Republic of China. After the restoration of Taiwan in 1945, he served as the special commissioner of the Ministry of foreign affairs in Taiwan and the mayor of Taipei. In 1946, the Taiwan Provincial Council was established and elected as its president. He died of illness in 1972.

In 1946, the Taiwan Provincial Council was established and elected as the president of the Council. He served as the first, second and third provisional provincial assembly presidents for 17 years. In addition, he has served as the chairman of the first bank of Taiwan since 1947. He has successively served as the managing director of the Bank of Taiwan and the Plenipotentiary of the Republic of China to the fifth UN General Assembly. He died of illness in 1972.
