In 1896, resenting the atrocities of the Japanese invading army, hundreds of people gathered in Fengling, south of Fengshan (today's Kaohsiung), Tainan, to fight against the Japanese aggressors, and the team rapidly expanded to thousands. Lin shaomao's original name is Miao Sheng. However, from a general point of view, Taiwan's Lin surname is second only to Chen '. From the perspective of the main distribution areas of mainland immigrants in Taiwan, although Minnan people occupy the majority in Taiwan, the area around ahou is mostly Hakka, so Lin shaomao's ancestors are likely to be Hakka immigrants from eastern Guangdong or Western Fujian.

On April 1, 1896, Japan issued the law on the implementation of laws and regulations in Taiwan. This law is the basic law governing Taiwan by Japan.
