Ding Yuan? He was born in Nancheng County, Taishan county (nanwucheng village, Zhengcheng Town, Pingyi County, Shandong Province). He was a famous official in the late Eastern Han Dynasty.
Ding Yuan was a rough man, brave and good at riding and shooting. Zhongping five years (188), served as governor of Bingzhou, stationed in Hanoi county. He was close to and kind to Lv Bu, and sent Zhang Yang, Zhang Liao and others to work in the capital.
In the sixth year of Zhongping (189), Emperor Ling of the Han Dynasty died. Ding Yuan was recruited by general He Jin and led into Luoyang as zhijinwu. He Jin was killed in the palace by the eunuch. Dong Zhuo led his troops to Beijing to annex Ding Yuan's troops, so he enticed Lv Bu, whom Ding Yuan trusted, to kill Ding Yuan.

Life of the characters
Ding Yuan was born in a poor family. He was resourceful, brave and armed. He was good at riding and archery. Later, he was an official of Nanxian county. No matter what difficulties he had, he would not refuse to accept the mission. In case of alarm and emergency, he would take the lead in pursuing the enemy.
In March 188, Zhang Yi, the governor of Bingzhou, was defeated and killed when he resisted the attack of Hu people. Therefore, Ding Yuan succeeded as the governor of Bingzhou. Since then, the official worship riding Duwei, troops in Hanoi county (county governance in Huai County, now southwest of Wuzhi County, Henan Province). During this period, he appointed Lu Bu as his master and was very close to him. Because Zhang Liao was brave and powerful, he was called up to work in the military. At the end of Emperor Ling of Han Dynasty, the world was in chaos. Jian Shuo and others wanted to enrich the central army, so they recruited warriors from all over the country. In the sixth year of Zhongping (189), Emperor Ling of Han Dynasty died. Ding Yuan led his troops to Luoyang and planned with He Jin to kill the eunuch. He was appointed zhijinwu. But before he Jin started, he was killed by the eunuch, and Yuan Shao and others killed the eunuch. At this time, Dong Zhuo came to Luoyang to control the government. Dong Zhuo knew that Lv Bu was trusted by Ding Yuan, so he conveniently induced Lv Bu to kill him. Ding Yuan's head was cut off by Lu Bu and given to Dong Zhuo, whose territory power was annexed by Dong Zhuo.

The governor of Bingzhou in Han Dynasty and the adoptive father of Lv Bu. After entering Kyoto, Dong Zhuo said he wanted to abolish Shaodi at a banquet on August 30, the first year of Zhaoning (September 27, 189). The next day (September 28, 189), the original army won the battle outside the city. Later Zhuo sent Hu Ben Zhong Lang to tell Li Su that his adopted son Lu Bu killed yuan, so Lu Bu cut the head of Ding Yuan to offer Zhuo on the second night, and the young emperor was abolished on the same day.
