Seeing that he gave special instructions, the king of Ba refused to invite Li Xuan to be an official for many times. In 316 BC, the state of BA was destroyed by King Huiwen of Qin. At that time, the people were destitute and starved everywhere. Li Xuan, who suffered from the collapse of his country and family, was frustrated, Seeing through the world of mortals, he ran away from home, went to Huashan to study Taoism and visit immortals, and practiced Taoism in shishanshan in his later years. After becoming an immortal, Tieguai Li Jing specialized in pharmacology, and refined the ointment for rheumatism and bone pain. Folklore
Tie Guai Li (Li Tie Guai) is the oldest immortal among the Eight Immortals in Chinese legend. It has a great influence on the Chinese people and is also the object respected by Taoism.
Among the eight immortals, there are several real figures in history, but Li Tieguai is an exception. It is because he is a legendary figure that there are various opinions about his family name, native place and age. Most people agree that Lijiaba is a native of Jiangjin, because there are still related relics in the early days of Lijiaba. The government is planning to build baxianyuan in the autumn of jiuben, the original site. However, the image generally accepted by people is that he has a dark face, fluffy hair, gold hoop on his head, disordered beard, round eyes, limp and leaning on an iron crutch.
But in Taoist classics, it is said that he was originally a handsome man who practiced Taoism in a cave and had reached a high level of attainments. He was even able to separate the soul from the body. One day, he decided to look for an expert, so he ordered his apprentice to guard his body, and then his soul went out to play.
Unexpectedly, after a few days, something happened in his apprentice's home, which required him to go home quickly, so he had to burn the body of the master and go home. Soon Li Tieguai's soul came back, but he couldn't find his own body. He was very frightened. Finally, he found a body in the forest that died of hunger. He had to use him to resurrect, and he became like this.
In the Chinese folk, he had a great influence on medicine, because it is said that the magic pill was preserved in the big gourd on his back. So later, people engaged in plaster industry in Chinese society regarded him as their ancestor.
Experience of becoming an immortal
Legend one
The theory of resurrection from the dead
Li Xuan was a scholar with a fine face, a gentle manner and a big figure. He was a respectable man. Because of the corruption in the examination room, he lost his reputation many times. From then on, he was disheartened and broke the world. He ran away from home, studied Taoism, visited immortals and specialized in cultivation. A few years later, Li Xuan felt that he had little effect. One day, he realized the reason why he didn't make progress: he didn't have the guidance of a famous teacher to practice Taoism. He decided to follow Lao Tzu to learn Taoism. (according to the famous scholar Hua Xuan's research, there was no imperial examination system in the spring and Autumn period when Li Xuan was born. The examination room was corrupt, and he was famous for many times. Later, Li Xuan (tie Guai Li) spent his spare time in Shizhu mountain, and strolled around the mountain. Suddenly, he heard the fairy music loud and clear. When he looked up, he saw that the sky was full of auspicious clouds, brilliant rays and thousands of auspicious colors Now there is a green ox and a crane, on which sit two immortal ancestors, taishanglaojun and wanqiu. Tieguai Li kneels down in a hurry and says, "I don't know the immortal ancestor is coming, but I can't prepare to meet him. I hope..." "Ha ha ha," Lao Jun said with a smile, "it's not easy for you to make great progress in Taoism. Wan Qiu and I plan to travel all over the world. If we want to take you with us, you must go to our place in ten days. Don't break the appointment. Remember that." Then Lao Jun drove away with his ox and crane.
In the twinkling of an eye, the ten day deadline has come. Tie Guai Li said to his apprentice Yang Zi: "as a teacher, at the invitation of the master, the spirit leaves and the body stays here. You should take good care of it. If my spirit does not return after seven days, it is enough to prove that I have been listed in the immortal class, you will burn my body. Seven days, remember After that, Li Xuan sat down with his knees crossed. His Qi sank into the elixir field, and the spirit came out of his body and floated away.
In the middle of the night of the sixth day when he left, his apprentice Yang Zi met a white haired old man in his sleep. The old man was kind-hearted, red faced, and holding a handful of Buddha dust. The old man said to Yang Zi with a smile, "your mother is going to die. Go back and give your mother your filial piety. There is a rock on the top of a hill near your home, which looks like an eagle's beak. There is a small hillside under the rock, and the hillside is filled with earth There is a family named Dong living on the side of Qiaozi. After your mother died, they buried her in the hillside. The family named Dong is kind-hearted. They have been guarding the treasure for many years, waiting for someone to dig it. The excavated treasure should be immediately moved to a nearby place called shangoutou, where they can find the family named Luo to hide and leave To thank the Dong family, you should bless them, and wish their descendants prosperity, everlasting incense and prosperity from generation to generation.
When Tuomeng was awakened by a thunderbolt, Yang Zi thought back: "the old man must be an immortal Tuomeng." Yang Zi didn't dare to be careless and sighed that loyalty and filial piety are difficult. Master Tieguai Li Yuanshen has been gone for six days, and I'm afraid he can't come back. Besides, his mother is dying. He'd better cremate his old man's body. Yang Zi knelt down in front of master, kowtowed and wept, and cremated his body He hurried home to visit his mother. As the old man said, his mother was in danger and soon died. According to the old man's instructions, Yang Zi searched near his home and found the rock shaped like an old eagle's beak. He also found Dong's family on the hillside below. After Yang Zi respectfully explained his intention to the Dong family, the hardworking Dong family went to the mountain with him As the old man said, he dug up a lot of treasures. Yang Zi immediately followed the old man's instructions and bowed to the Dong family and said, "may your son and grandson be prosperous for thousands of years and prosper from generation to generation. He married and gave birth to a man." Yang Zi was so excited about getting treasure that he added incoherently, "marry and give birth to a man." he thought, "only when all of you give birth to a boy can you have a constant fragrance." It is said that the daughter-in-law of the Dong family all gave birth to boys, and the place where the treasure was excavated was called Jinbaoshan.
Yang Zi transported all the treasures to the mountain valley head and handed them to the family of naluo, leaving a small part to deal with his mother's affairs (Huaxuan later verified that there were such names as "Yingzuiyan" and "Jinbaoshan" at the foot of the stalagmite mountain). After a lot of changes, it was impossible to verify whether there was a surname Dong in Tuqiaozi of Jinbaoshan and whether there was a surname Luo at the mountain valley head.
In retrospect, Tieguai Li came back to stalagmite mountain in the evening of the seventh day
Smelling the smell of burning meat, he suddenly realized that something was wrong. Yuanshen immediately floated down to the platform. He could not see what he expected. His body had been burned. There was only a charred body on the platform. He was frightened. Suddenly, there was a beggar starving to death not far away. So he hurriedly attached to the body of starving to death. When he got up, he suddenly found the body The starving man was lame. Just as he was about to leave, he heard the voice of Laojun from the top of stalagmite mountain: "it's God's will. It can't be violated.". Taishanglaojun appeared and said: "Tao should be obtained outside the appearance, not just the appearance. As long as you are successful, you are a real immortal. This sermon made Li Ningyang finally accept the body, so the Emperor gave him a gold hoop to tie his hair, gave Li xuantie a crutch and a wine pot, and extradited Li Xuancheng. He rubbed his eyes with both hands and made them look like two big holes, so he called himself Li kongmu. People often ignored his character and only paid attention to the crutch leg, so they called him tie Guai Li.
Legend 2
At the end of Ming Dynasty and the beginning of Qing Dynasty, there lived two folk doctors named CAI and Gao Er. They were very famous and kind-hearted. They practiced medicine for the common people. They didn't pay any money to the poor people. One day, when they went out to see the doctor, they met and walked together in the mountain. While talking, they saw a woodcutter supporting a lame beggar groaning on the side of the road. The old man's legs were festering Smelly and full of maggots, CAI and senior two doctors asked the woodcutter, "who are you, elder brother? How did his leg hurt so badly? " The woodcutter replied, "my family name is ye. I live in Jinbaoshan at the foot of the mountain. I'm not related to the old man. I saw the old man moaning and groaning here just now, so I helped him to rest." CAI and senior two doctors looked at the woodcutter with admiration. They put down the medicine box at the same time and took out the herbs to treat the lame old man's leg ulcers
