Profile
Weng Junming was born on January 12, 1891 in Tainan City, Taiwan Province. His father, Weng shaohuan, is a patriotic doctor. In his family motto "good citizen", there are two sentences that have been widely read in Tainan: "those who sacrifice for the same culture and the same species are called Chengren; those who die for the different race and the different species are called loss." Considering that Taiwan was under the Japanese occupation at that time, Weng shaohuan's patriotic courage was admirable. Deeply influenced by his father, Weng Junming not only took the road of healing the wounded and saving the dying, but also took patriotism as his duty all his life. His first patriotic act was to join the Chinese League led by Dr. Sun Yat Sen.
Life experience
In 1913, after the outbreak of the "second revolution" against Yuan Shikai's dictatorship, Sun Yat Sen, Huang Xing and other revolutionaries were wanted.
On August 4, 1913, Sun Yat Sen arrived in Keelung, Taiwan from Fuzhou on the Japanese ferry "Fushun pill". The next day, he transferred to Japan. Although he stayed in Taiwan for only one day, Sun Yat Sen secretly met with Weng Junming, Zhou chiniu, Qiu Fengxiang and other members of the Chinese League in Meiwu Fuli, Taipei. After meeting with Sun Yat Sen, Weng Junming came up with the idea of assassinating Yuan Shikai and serving the revolution. He discussed with his friends Du Congming, Jiang Weiqing and others that the risk of armed assassination was too high and the success rate was not high, so he decided to use his medical expertise to cultivate pathogenic bacteria (cholera bacteria) and poison Yuan Shikai. Although their ideas were strongly opposed by Sun Yat Sen, who was also a doctor, these patriotic young medical students decided to launch an assassination.
In the summer of 1913, Weng Junming invited his close classmate Qiu Fengxiang, who knew medicine, to work as an assistant to prepare pathogenic bacteria. Half a month later, the preparation of pathogenic bacteria was completed, and Weng decided to invite Du Congming to take action. After all the preparations were made, Weng Junming invited Du Congming, Qiu Fengxiang and others to his home to hold a secret operation oath ceremony. In the oath, he said that he would "support the Republic of China with his life and blood, eliminate harm for the country, be loyal to and defend Sun Yat Sen, and never give up until his goal is achieved." (in October, Weng Junming and Du Congming went through Japan) after they arrived in Beijing, they first found a hotel near Tiananmen Square. Then, they disguised themselves and searched around Yuan Shikai's residence for the place and time to start. After several days of reconnaissance, they found a pool where pathogenic bacteria could be released, so they decided to start here. Moreover, they judged that if they succeeded, only Yuan Shikai and his family or his accomplices would be poisoned, and ordinary people would not be hurt. One night, they came to the pool and quietly put pathogenic bacteria into the pool. Because the pathogenic bacteria prepared by them were not toxic, the pathogenic bacteria put in this time did not play a role in poisoning. After waiting for a week, the news of Yuan Shikai's death has not been heard. They feel that the action of poisoning Yuan Shikai has not been successful, and they leave Beijing to return to Taiwan unhappily. Weng Junming and Du Congming kept a tight lipped account of the secret murder of Yuan Shikai in Beijing. They didn't disclose it until Yuan Shikai was killed on June 6, 1916. " Several young medical students, at the risk of beheading, tried to poison Yuan Shikai with pathogenic bacteria, which made people have mixed feelings. Weng Junming, Du Congming, Qiu Fengxiang, these patriotic assassins are admirable.
In 1938, before Xiamen was occupied by Japanese invaders, Weng Junming moved to Hong Kong and continued to operate Junming hospital in Hong Kong.
In October 1940, Weng Junming sent his son to Chongqing to study. Liu qiguang, who was then the representative of the "Taiwan volunteers" in Chongqing, the Secretary General of the "Taiwan Federation of revolutionary organizations" and a member of the Military Commission, introduced him.
In January 1941, Weng Junming met with Zhu Jiahua, head of the Organization Department of the Central Committee of the Chinese Kuomintang. With his profound revolutionary qualifications and firm revolutionary belief, Weng Junming was affirmed by the Central Committee of the Chinese Kuomintang and began to participate in the preparatory work for the establishment of the Taiwan Party headquarters of the Chinese Kuomintang. According to Mr. Wang Yifu.
In March 1941, the secret Preparatory Office of the Taiwan Party headquarters of the Chinese Kuomintang was established, and Weng Junming presided over it.
On March 10, 1943, the Organization Department of the Central Committee of the Chinese Kuomintang sent a secret telegram: "it is decided to formally establish the" Taiwan Party headquarters directly under the Central Committee ", with Weng Junming as its chairman and Lin Zhong as its member and secretary general. In order to facilitate progress, it is required to work in Zhangzhou, Fujian." Weng Junming became the first chairman of the Taiwan Party headquarters directly under the Central Committee of the Chinese Kuomintang.
On April 1, 1943, the Taiwan Party headquarters directly under the Central Committee of the Chinese Kuomintang was officially established in Zhangzhou. Its address is located in Zhongzheng hospital, No. 98, Lu'an East Road, Zhangzhou city. Its director is Weng Junming. Xie Dongmin, a member of the party headquarters, is concurrently the head of the propaganda section. Guo Tianyi, also the head of the organization section. Chen bangji, Qiu niantai, Chen Dong, Yang Dahui, Yang Wanding and Liao Qiyang are members. In addition, the organization and training section, conference room and auditorium of Taiwan's party headquarters are operated by the "Zou clan Temple". Because it was still in the period of Anti Japanese war at that time, the party headquarters in Taiwan were combat party headquarters and secret. According to a secret report written by Wang Chenghu, the then supervisor of the Fifth District, to the Organization Department of the Central Committee of the Kuomintang, on July 26, 1943, Weng Junming, Lin Zhong, Guo Tianyi, Xie Dongmin and others held a secret swearing in ceremony in the Zou clan temple.
Character evaluation
Objectively speaking, under the leadership of Weng Junming, from the Preparatory Office of the Taiwan Party headquarters of the Chinese Kuomintang to the Taiwan Party headquarters directly under the Central Committee, as a secret party headquarters, they still did a lot of work. In the autumn of 1942, a training class for Taiwan Party affairs staff was held in Taihe County, Jiangxi Province. It began to train Taiwan cadres, Weng Junming, who was also a head teacher. In order to keep secret, it is called Shaoguan battlefield service training class. In June 1943, the Taiwan Party headquarters compiled and printed seven volumes of reference materials on the Taiwan issue in Zhangzhou for reference when the Central Government recovered Taiwan. The contributors include Weng Junming, Xie Dongmin, Huang Chaoqin, Lin Zhong, Liu qiguang and others. Three secret liaison stations were also set up in Hong Kong, Shanghai and Xiamen in the enemy occupied areas.
The death of a character
However, only seven months after the formal establishment of the party headquarters in Taiwan, on the evening of November 18, 1943, Weng Junming suddenly died in a rented house in Zhencheng lane, Zhangzhou. Before his death, he suffered abdominal pain such as strangulation and bleeding in his seven orifices. It was obvious that he had been poisoned. The death of Weng Junming is still a mystery. The murderer has never been caught. It is generally believed that Weng Junming was poisoned and assassinated by a special agent of the Japanese Governor General's office in Taiwan.
