Qian Yu

Qian Ju (September 29, 929 - October 7, 988), formerly known as Qian Hongju, was born in Lin'an, Hangzhou (now Lin'an, Zhejiang Province) because he avoided the name taboo of Zhao Hongyin, the father of song Taizu. The last monarch of Wuyue. The ninth son of Qian Yuanyu, his younger brother.

He ordered that all taxes owed over the years should be exempted. The people were very happy when the land was abandoned. In the eighth year of Kaibao (975), Qian Chu sent troops to join the Northern Song Dynasty and the Southern Tang Dynasty capital Jinling (now Nanjing, Jiangsu). In December, Qian entered the court to express his congratulations. He had been in power for more than 30 years, during which he served the later Han Dynasty, the Later Zhou Dynasty and the Northern Song Dynasty.

In 978, Emperor Taizong of Song Dynasty entered Bianjing (now Kaifeng, Henan Province) and was detained. In order to protect the people from war, he offered to seal the territory in Song Dynasty. He was successively granted the titles of Huaihai king, Hannan king and Nanyang king. He resigned the title of the country, changed the title of King Xu and became king Deng. In August of the first year of Duangong (988), Qian Chu was on his 60th birthday. He had a banquet with the envoys of the imperial court to celebrate his birthday until the end of the night. His posthumous title is Zhongyi. He was buried in Luoyang, Henan Province.
