Shi Fa, named Zhengqing, was born in Yongjia (now Yongjia County, Zhejiang Province) and a medical scientist in the Southern Song Dynasty.
Shi Fa (1190 ~? )In his youth, he studied medicine at the same time and devoted himself to medical research. He was especially diligent in the theory and technology of disease diagnosis. He took Neijing, Zujing and yiyijing as examples and corrected them with related works on pulse and diagnosis. In 1241, referring to previous medical works and combining with his own practical experience, he wrote three volumes of "guide to disease observation". The book focuses on pulse diagnosis and describes clinical diagnosis methods. In addition to listening to sound, observing color and examining taste, it uses the 24 pulse classification method of "seven tables, eight Li and nine Dao" and creatively draws 33 pulse maps. It is an earlier existing diagnostic monograph. This book attempts to show the pulse images that are difficult to master by graphics, which is a significant innovation in the history of traditional Chinese medicine. In addition, he also wrote the book of differentiation of Materia Medica, which is lost today.
