At first, Jiangning Jiedu envoy Zhao yunrang (the title of Pu'an Yiwang was later granted by Renzong) dreamt that two dragons were falling with the sun, so he followed them with his clothes. On the third day of the first month of the first year of Ming Dynasty (1032), when Zhao Shu was born in xuanpingfang house, the red light was shining all over the room. Some people saw Huang Long swimming in the red light.
Infant adoption
Since Zhao Zhen, the emperor Renzong of Song Dynasty, had no son in his early years, in the second year of Jingyou (1035), zhao shu, a young man, was admitted to the Imperial Palace by Emperor Renzong of Song Dynasty, and was named Zhao Zongshi, who was raised by Empress Cao (later Empress Dowager Cao).
Zhao Zongshi (later song Yingzong zhao shu) was very filial in nature. He liked reading and didn't play. He was frugal and simple in clothes, just like a Confucian. Often wearing court clothes to see his teacher, said: "you are my teacher, dare not meet each other with courtesy." At that time, Wu Chongjin, Professor of Wu Wanggong, presented the six precepts of the imperial clan. Renzong handed it to Zongzheng, and Zhao Zongshi wrote the content on the screen to restrain himself.
In the third year of Jingyou (1036), Zhao Zongshi was appointed as the guard of the left prison and the deputy chief of the government. Later, he was promoted to the rank of general of the right badminton army and governor of Yizhou.
In 1039, after the birth of Zhao Xin, the son of song Renzong, king of Yu, Zhao Zongshi went out of the palace to return to his father Zhao yunrang.
To be the crown prince
In the first month of the third year of Qingli (1043), Zhao Xin, king of Henan, died early. In 1050, Zhao Zongshi (later zhao shu) was promoted to right guard general and Yuezhou regiment training envoy.
In the third year of Jiayou (1058), after the death of King Pu'an Yi, the playthings he wore were distributed to his sons. All that Zhao Zongshi got was distributed to the old people who were going to leave the palace after burying his father. One of the clan's children borrowed a gold belt but returned it with a copper belt. The person in charge told him about it. Zhao Zongshi said, "this is really my belt!" He accepted it. He once asked the waiter in front of the hall to sell the rhino belt for him. The rhino belt was worth 300000 yuan and was lost. Zhao Zongshi did not ask.
In June of the third year of Jiayou (1058), Han Qi, the prime minister, Bao Zheng, the direct Bachelor of LongTuge, and others mentioned to Renzong about the establishment of the crown prince. Renzong said that there was another pregnancy in the harem, and so on. But it didn't take long to give birth to a girl. At that time, Zhao Zongshi happened to mourn for the death of his father Zhao yunrang.
On October 12, 1061, the court planned to appoint Zhao Zongshi as the defense history of Qinzhou and zhizongzheng temple. Zhao Zongshi refused because the mourning period was not over. Zhao Zongshi refused four times before the imperial court allowed him to continue to watch the funeral. After the funeral, Zhao Zongshi was granted the defense envoy of Qinzhou and zhizongzhengsi, and he refused again.
In August of 1062, the court allowed Zhao Zongshi to quit his post and become a regiment training envoy of Yuezhou.
On the fourth day of August in the same year, Zhao Zongshi was made Prince; on the ninth day of August, he was renamed zhao shu. After hearing the imperial edict, zhao shu said that he was ill and refused to be the prince. He asked Professor Zhou Mengyang of the tan palace to write memorials. Zhou Mengyang did some admonitions, and zhao shu quickly thanks him. After more than ten memorials, Renzong didn't agree. He issued an imperial edict to judge the chief official. Duke Anguo and others went to persuade him to obey the order, so all the officials went to Zhao Shu's bedroom to help him and send him to the palace. Zhao Shucai promised to be the prince, and warned the Sheren, "guard my house carefully. When the emperor has an heir, I will come back." On August 30, zhao shu appeared in Qingju hall. Since then, zhao shu twice a day to the emperor, and sometimes to the palace to serve the emperor. In September, zhao shu was named the defense history of Qizhou and the Duke of Julu County.
Succeeding to the throne
In the third month of the lunar calendar in 1063, Renzong died. On the first day of April in summer, empress Cao issued an imperial edict to let zhao shu succeed to the throne. Civil and military officials entered the palace, crying and mourning. Han Qi read Renzong's edict and made orders. Zhao shu went to the east hall to meet civil and military officials. The official accession to the throne was for song Yingzong. On the second day of April, a general amnesty was granted to the whole world, and a first-class reward was given to every officer and every army.
Zhao shu wanted to watch Renzong's funeral for three years, and ordered Han Qi to act as an agent for military and political affairs. When the prime minister refused, zhao shu took back his life. On the fourth day of April, zhao shu was ill. Han Zhi and others were sent to report to Khitan that Yingzong was the emperor. On the fifth day of April, empress Cao was honored as empress dowager. On the eighth day of April, an imperial edict was issued to ask the Empress Dowager to jointly handle military and state affairs. On April 14, the Empress Dowager went to the small hall to listen to the government, and the ministers went to the small hall to play state affairs. On April 14, we made the seal. On April 16, Zhao Xu, the eldest son of the emperor, was appointed as the observation envoy of Anzhou and the Duke of Guangguo.
Disharmony between the two palaces
At the beginning of Zhao Shu's accession to the throne, because of his illness, she was later ruled by Empress Cao. Some eunuchs kept saying bad things about Zhao Shu to empress dowager Cao, which led to the emergence of a rift between the two palaces and the tension between them.
In order to mediate the conflict between the two palaces, Han Qi and Ouyang Xiu first said to empress dowager Cao, "you have been serving emperor Renzong for so many years. Who in the world doesn't know that you are a virtuous, generous, kind and understanding person. Why can't you live with your son now? He's a patient. You don't want to see him in the same light. Do you want others to talk about you like other stepmothers in the world? " They also said to Zhao Shu, "since ancient times, there have been countless wise monarchs in the world. Why do people only praise Shun as a filial son? Is no one else filial? Of course not. It is common for parents to be kind and children to be filial. If parents do not do well and children are still more filial, then it is commendable. Don't you know what kind of person the Empress Dowager used to be? Just do your filial duty as a son of man. I believe the Empress Dowager will not treat you badly. " With everyone's persuasion, the contradiction between the two palaces was gradually eased.
Heal from illness
In May of the first year of Zhiping (1064), zhao shu recovered from illness, and Cao Tai retreated to return to politics. Only half a month after Zhao Shu was in power, Prime Minister Han Qi and others proposed to him to ask the relevant departments to discuss zhao shu's birth father's status. At that time, it was 14 months since Renzong's death. Zhao shu instructed him to wait until Renzong Daxiang (one of the funeral rites of the Han nationality in ancient China, the memorial ceremony held two years after the death of his father and mother (that is, the 25th month).
In the first year of Zhiping (1064), the Guanghua army and Gaoyou army suffered from floods in Jingji, song, Bo, Chen, Xu, Ru, Cai, Tang, Ying, Cao, PU, Ji, Dan, Hao, Si, Lu, Shou, Chu, hang, Xuan, Hong, e, Shi, Yu and other prefectures. Zhao shu sent envoys to inspect, dredge rivers, relieve victims and exempt taxes.
In the same year, Xifan's son, Xiabi mizheng, returned to the Song Dynasty.
On the ninth day of the fourth lunar month in the second year of Zhiping (1065), Han Qi and others once again raised the issue of Zhao Shu's birth father. Therefore, zhao shu issued an imperial edict to send the motion to the taichangli court for discussion. This led to a debate lasting for 18 months, which was the "Puyi" event in the history of the Northern Song Dynasty.
In the third year of Zhiping (1066), the ministers of Zhongshu held a joint discussion in chuigong hall. At that time, Han Qi was sacrificing at home, and zhao shu specially called him to discuss. At that time, it was agreed that (zhao shu's father) king Pu should be called huangkao. Ouyang Xiu wrote two imperial edicts and gave zhao shu one. At noon, the Empress Dowager sent a eunuch to send a sealed document to Zhongshu province. Han Qi and Ouyang Xiu opened the document and laughed at each other. This document was the imperial edict drafted by Ouyang Xiu, which was signed by the Empress Dowager. Zhao shu immediately ordered the discussion to stop. At the same time, he called in the prime minister and the ruling officials to discuss how to calm down the emotions of the officials so as to stabilize the current situation. Zhao shu finally agreed with Ouyang Xiu and other people's opinions, and demoted LV Yu and other three imperial censors out of the capital.
On the eighth day of November in the third year of Zhiping (1066), zhao shu fell ill again. In December of the same year, at the suggestion of Han Qi, the prime minister, Zhao Xu, his eldest son, was appointed prince.
He died of illness
One day, zhao shu said to Zhao Xu, "according to the old system of the country, the sons of the scholar bureaucrats married the daughters of the emperor, and the princesses avoided the elder status of their father-in-law because of their noble status, which is unreasonable. I always think about it. When I wake up and sleep, I feel uneasy about it. How can I go against the general order of human relations because of wealth? We can order the relevant departments to change this rule. " But in the end, zhao shu failed because of his illness.
