Chen Gong
Chen Gong? In the late Eastern Han Dynasty, Lu Bu's chief counselor was born in Dongwuyang (now Shenxian County, Shandong Province).
He was upright and resourceful. When he was young, he made friends with well-known people at home.
In 192, Liu Dai, the governor of Yanzhou, died in the battle against Huangjin in Qingzhou. Chen Gong and others advocated that Cao Cao should take over the post of Yanzhou herdsman, so he was regarded as a confidant by Cao Cao. Later, Chen Gong lobbied Zhang Miao to betray Cao Cao and welcome Lu Bu into Yanzhou. He assisted Lu Bu in attacking Cao Cao and won Yanzhou and Xuzhou successively. In xiapi City, Lu Bu didn't listen to Chen Gong's plan of complementing each other, so he failed.
After Chen Gong was defeated, he was captured by Cao Cao along with Lv Bu. He refused Cao Cao's surrender and decided to die.
Life of the characters
Assist Cao Cao
Chen Gong became an official when Cao Cao was the prefect of Dongjun. In the third year of Chuping (192), he used diplomatic means to collect Yanzhou for Cao Cao (at that time, Yanzhou was in a state of ownerless because Liu Dai, the prime minister, died fighting with the yellow scarf army of Qingzhou). In addition, Chen Gong won the support of Bao Xin, the Prime Minister of Jibei, so that Cao Cao could serve as the governor of Yanzhou to level off the yellow scarf army in Qingzhou.
Betray Cao and welcome LV
In the first year of Xingping (194), when Cao Cao led the expedition against Tao Qian, he stayed in the garrison of Dongjun. However, he conspired with Chen Liu's Taishou Zhang Miao, Zhang Chao, Zhang Miao's younger brother, Zhonglang Xu Si, Wang Kai and others in rebellion, leading Lv Bu to enter Yanzhou. For a while, several prefectures of Yanzhou responded to the incident, and only juancheng, Fancheng and donga belonged to Cao Cao's territory. Cao Cao was defeated several times at one time, but in the end, he was defeated by Cao's army. He was forced to flee to Xuzhou with Lu Bu to take refuge with Liu Bei.
The change of Hao Meng
In the middle of June of the first year of Jian'an (196), Hao Meng, a native of Hanoi, launched a rebellion at the instigation of Yuan Shu. He led his troops to attack xiapi, where the city was firmly defended and could not be invaded. Lu Bu did not know who was the rebel and led his family to flee to gaoshun camp. Gaoshun asked, "is the general hiding?" Lu Bu replied, "this is the voice of Hanoi people." Gao Shun guessed that Hao Meng was the one who rebelled, so he led his troops to xiapi to fight back the rebellion. The bows and crossbows fired at Hao Meng's trilogy and returned to camp at dawn. (it is recorded in CE Fu Yuan GUI that Lu Bu and Gao Shun went to fight the rebellion together.)
Hao Meng's Department, Cao Xing, is fighting against Hao Meng. Hao Meng stabs Cao Xing, and Cao Xing cuts off Hao Meng's arm. Gao Shun takes advantage of the situation and cuts off Hao Meng's head. He takes the injured Cao Xing on his bed and goes to see Lv Bu. Lu Bu asked about the origin of Cao Xing, and Cao Xing replied, "Hao Meng rebelled at the instigation of Yuan Shu." Lu Bu asked again, "who are the conspirators?" Cao Xing replied that Chen Gong was an accomplice. At that time, Chen Gong was sitting next to Lv Bu, his face turned red, and others noticed it. Because Chen Gong was a general, Lu Bu did not pursue him. Cao Xing added: "when Hao Meng rebelled, he asked me if it was feasible? I said that general Lu's army was invincible, but I didn't expect that Hao Meng was more than confused. Lu Bu said to Cao Xing, "you are really a good athlete." Let Cao Xing take charge of the rest of Hao Meng's department after he recovers.
Xiapi killed
In the winter of the third year of Jian'an (198), when Cao Cao's army besieged xiapi, Cao Cao wrote to Lv Bu to state his interests. Lv Bu was afraid and planned to surrender. Chen Gong said: "since Cao Cao came far away, the situation can't stay too long. If the general leads the infantry and cavalry to garrison outside the city, I will lead the rest of the army to defend the city inside. If Cao's army attacks the general, I will lead the troops to attack their back. If Cao's army attacks the city, the general will help them outside. But one month later, Cao's army ran out of grain. If we fight back, we can break the enemy. " Lu Bu agreed that he planned to keep Chen palace and Gao Shun guarding the city. He led his cavalry to cut off Cao's grain supply.
Lu Bu's wife said to Lu Bu, "Chen Gong and Gao Shun are always at odds. Once the general leaves the city, Chen Gong and Gao Shun will not be able to work together to defend the city. In case of any problem, where will the general stand! Moreover, Cao Cao treats Chen Gong as his parents treat young children in their arms. Chen Gong also abandons Cao Cao to take refuge with us. If you don't treat Chen Gong more than Cao Cao, you will leave the whole city to him and leave his wife and children alone. If there is any change, can I be your wife again? " Lu Bu dismissed the plan.
In November of the same year, Cao Cao dug trenches to encircle xiapi city. But after a long time, the soldiers were very tired. He planned to withdraw. Xun you and Guo Jia said: "Lu Bu is brave but not resourceful. Now he has lost battles and lost his spirit. The situation of the three armed forces depends entirely on the situation of the chief General. If the chief General's spirit declines, the half ambition of the three armed forces will disappear. Although Chen Gong was resourceful, he didn't have enough opportunities. Now we should take advantage of the opportunity when Lu Bu's spirit has not been restored and Chen Gong's wisdom has not been determined to launch a fierce attack to eliminate Lu Bu. " Therefore, Cao Jun dug ditches and diverted Yishui and Surabaya to irrigate the city. Another month later, Lu Bu was even more embarrassed. He went to the top of the city and said to the Cao soldiers, "don't force me like this. I will turn myself in to the Duke of Ming." Chen Gong stopped and said, "Cao Cao is just a traitor. How can he be called Minggong! If we surrender now, it's like beating stones with eggs. How can we save our lives! "
In December, Lu Bu's morale collapsed, and his troops rebelled against Hou Cheng, Wei Xu, and Song Xian, and bound him to surrender to Cao Cao.
Cao Cao once tried to persuade him to become an official again, but Chen Gong was not moved and went to the execution ground to die. Cao Cao ordered the heads of Lv Bu, Chen Gong and Gao Shun to be sent to Xu Du Zhanggong and buried. Since then, the CHENGONG family has been supported by Cao Cao.
It is said that before Chen Gong was punished, Cao Cao was reluctant to kill him, so he asked Chen Gong, "Gongtai, what will your mother do after you die?" Chen Gong replied: "I heard that people who govern the world with filial piety will not kill other people's mothers." Cao Cao asked again, "Gongtai, what should you do when you die Chen Gong replied, "I heard that the wise king who governs the world with benevolence will not kill other people's sons." Cao Cao had no choice but to kill Chen Gong and promised that your mother and children would regard them as their own, so the family of Chen Gong was always supported by Cao Cao.
Character evaluation
Zhao Rui: 1. Yuan Benchu looked down on Heshuo; Liu Jingsheng rose to Jingzhou; Ma Chao and Han Sui were in charge of guanxi; Lu Bu and Chen Gong were in charge of Dongxia; Haidai, a prince of Liaohe, was one of the most outstanding men of the time.
② At that time, though the wisdom of Zhuge, the tactics of Chen Gong, the courage of Lu Bu and the merits of Guan Zhang were useless. This is called courage and timidity, strength and weakness. There are three ways to save soldiers, and those who are good at fighting are always looking for them.
Chen Pu: he Wu once served as master Dong, and the grass of the original mausoleum is growing. At that time, he gathered many things and knew where to live. He hated Gongtai and did not choose to live.
Luo Guanzhong: first, there is no ambition for life and death. What a strong husband! If the stone is empty, the stone is not empty. The auxiliary master is really worthy of respect, but it's sad to say goodbye. On the day of baimen's death, who is willing to be like Gongtai!
② Yafu's loyal advice meets the overlord, Zixu gouges out his eyes and meets his husband. The death of the public platform downstairs in baimen made people sigh.
③ If you don't know the fish and the dragon, you should kill Xuande and refuse Cao Gong. Although back but heaven, who is loyal to the sun red?
Huangshan: it's not necessary for the palace to say the cloth. It's also based on what was said in the past. In order to make Buzi ride out of the garrison, Buzi was defeated by more than a thousand riders. How can it be used!
Li Zhi: Chen Gong's wisdom is also good enough to rival Cao, but cloth can't be used, and he hasn't reached the magic point of being absorbed in ghosts.
