Cao Xue
Cao Xue, a branch of Redology, studies a dream of Red Mansions by studying Cao Xueqin's life, experience and the whole Cao family.
In his brief history of Chinese novels, Lu Xun took the latest achievement of the study of the dream of Red Mansions at that time and thought that Cao Xueqin's dream of Red Mansions was an autobiographical work. Mr. Lu Xun said, "narratives are true, and you can hear what you see." "Dream of Red Mansions" is characterized by eight words, "it is because of realism that it becomes fresh." The degree to which he writes realistically is beyond the depth of paper. Originally, realism seems to be the least fresh, while fiction and imagination are the most fresh. Because he writes realistically with the greatest strength, and writes very well, "turning into freshness" is better than those pure fiction and fantasy works. This is Lu Xun's comment on a dream of Red Mansions. Therefore, a branch of the study of the dream of Red Mansions, Cao Xue, appeared. Through the study of Cao Xueqin's life, experience and the whole Cao family, we can understand and study a dream of Red Mansions.
