Gao Heng
Gao Heng (January 1930 August 22, 2019), male, Han nationality, was born in January 1930 in Laohekou City, Hubei Province. He graduated from the law department of Wuhan University in 1955, and graduated from the law department of Moscow University in 1961 with an associate doctorate.
At 7:30 on August 22, 2019, Comrade Gao Heng died of illness in Beijing at the age of 90.

Gao Heng, a native of Laohekou City (formerly Guanghua county), Hubei Province, was born in January 1930. He completed private school and primary school education in his hometown. From September 1945 to January 1950, he received secondary education in Xiangyang No.1 junior high school and Hubei Jiangling senior high school. In September 1950, he was admitted to the law department of Wuhan University. From October 1950 to January 1952, he joined the land reform movement in Shishou County, Hubei Province with the whole class. In June 1952, he joined the New Democratic Youth League of China. From September 1952 to November 1952, he participated in the judicial reform movement in Wuhan with the whole faculty and students. In June 1955, he practiced in the people's Court of Wuchang District, Wuhan. After graduating from the University in September 1955, Mr. Gao Heng was approved to study abroad. In the same month, he entered the Preparatory Department of Beijing Russian University to study in the Soviet Union for one year. In November 1956, he entered the law department of Moscow University in the Soviet Union. In February 1961, he graduated with an associate doctor's degree. Gao Heng returned to China in March 1961. In September of the same year, he was assigned to work as an assistant researcher in the Law Research Institute of the Department of philosophy and social sciences of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (changed to the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences in May 1977). During the period from November 1964 to July 1965, he went to Jinxian County, Liaoning Province to participate in the "four Qing" movement. During the "Cultural Revolution", he was transferred to Xixian County, Henan Province and Minggang Chinese Academy of Sciences "May 7th cadre school" of philosophy and Social Sciences Department. After the end of the "Cultural Revolution", Mr. Gao Heng has been a tutor for postgraduates since 1978. He joined the Communist Party of China in March 1980. He was named an associate researcher in April 1982, a researcher in July 1988, and retired in December 1990. in 1992, he enjoyed the special government allowance granted by the State Council. In August 2006, he was elected as one of the first honorary members of the academic department of the Chinese Academy of social sciences. He was once a member of the academic committee of the Institute of law of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and Secretary of the Party branch of jurisprudence and legal history.

He is a member of the honorary Department of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and a researcher of the Institute of law. Since 1992, he has enjoyed the special government allowance issued by the State Council. He once served as vice president of the Research Society of the history of Chinese legal thoughts and chief editor of the editorial board of the treatise on the history of law.
