Chen Zude
Chen Zude (1944.2.19 ~ 2012.11.1), male, is a professional nine section go player in China. Shanghai people. He has successively served as the director of the chess management center of the General Administration of sport of the people's Republic of China, the president of the Chinese Chess Academy, the vice chairman and chairman of the China Go Association, and the director of the editorial board of the China go Yearbook. In 1978 and 1983, he was elected deputy to the fifth and Sixth National People's congresses.
In 1963 and 1965, Chen Zude was the first Chinese to defeat Japanese Jiuduan chess player in China by winning the first place and the second place, respectively. In 1980, he wrote his autobiography beyond self in the struggle against gastric cancer, which inspired a generation. On the evening of November 1, 2012, he died in Beijing due to ineffective treatment of pancreatic cancer. In addition to surpassing oneself, his works include Xu Cheng Shiju, Huang Long Zhouhu, blood and tears, Guo Zhou Shiju, Xiang Xia Zhan Liang Cheng, etc.

Early experience
On February 19, 1944, Chen Zude was born into an intellectual family in Shanghai. He is the grandson of Chen Jicheng and the younger brother of Chen Zufen. When he was young, he studied chess from go predecessors Gu shuiru and Liu dihuai.
In 1950, at the age of seven, Chen began to learn go from his father. At first, his opponent was his elder sister, who was one year older than him. But her elder sister, who only liked dolls but didn't like go, was soon not his opponent. Let's play chess to 25 pieces (let's play chess to the maximum number). Then his father became his opponent, adults sitting on the sofa, children sitting on the small sail stool. The father and son agreed: when the son won the father, he would exchange seats.
Two months later, the father and son exchanged seats. The father, who felt that his son was good at chess, began to find a teacher for him. Chen Zude's father was the principal of a middle school at that time. There was a teacher named Zhou Jiren in the school, whose level was a bit higher than that of Chen's father. Therefore, Mr. Zhou became Chen Zude's second go teacher.
Zhou Ji Ren often plays chess with people in the society, and the chess world gives him a nickname "King Wen of Zhou". After playing a game of chess with Chen Zude, Mr. Zhou stopped playing. He had the insight to know talents and felt that he should ask a famous teacher to teach him.
In 1951, through the introduction of Mr. Zhou, Chen Zude met Gu shuiru in Xiangyang Park, Shanghai. After being instructed by Gu shuiru, Chen Zude learned from Liu dihuai and gradually revealed his talent in chess. At that time, Chen Zude, who had just learned go, couldn't find a partner to play with. He played with some elders, because at that time, not many people knew go, and many people didn't even know what it was. Chen Zude also participated in the Shanghai Sports Commission Weiqi training class with excellent results.
Career
In 1961, Chen Zude entered the national go training team (the first national go team). In 1962, 1964 and 1974, he won the national individual championship for three times, and established his leading position in the contemporary chess players.
On September 27, 1963, Chen Zude defeated Japanese chess player Yasuo suguchi and became the first Chinese to defeat Japanese chess player Yasuo suguchi in China, breaking the myth that Japanese chess player Yasuo suguchi is invincible. On October 25, 1965, Chen Zude became the first Chinese chess player to defeat Japan's Jiuduan in two and one-half ways.

At the end of January 2011, Chen Zude was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. In February of the same year, he received surgical treatment, and the operation was successful. However, on March 14, 2012, Chen Zude's pancreatic cancer recurred after hospital diagnosis. On November 1, 2012, Chen Zude died.

In his early years, Chen Zude's hobby was not playing chess, but painting. Later, he went to the shipyard to experience life, and hesitated to be a painter or a chess player in the future. And he is also quite accomplished in literature and music, especially in literature. When he was a child, he was familiar with four masterpieces and read all over the world, especially Victor Hugo and Jack London. In the early 1980s, his autobiography "beyond myself" was highly praised as soon as it was published.
Chen Zude looks gentle, but he drinks a lot. Before suffering from cancer, he regarded wine as his favorite, drinking with a bowl. Winning chess celebrates, losing chess relieves boredom, and even drinking a few glasses of beer before setting out with a lover for the first time. But Chen Zude is good at drinking, not greedy. Drinking never makes things wrong. He was only drunk once in his life. It was after the national go team was banned and restored for the first time. Chen Zude lamented that things are changeable and passionate.
Another strange hobby of Chen Zude is watching boxing matches. He didn't even stay in the boxing ring until noon in 2011. In this regard, he explained that China had banned boxing in 1959, when the lonely expression of boxers touched him deeply.
love life
In the 1970s, the marriage between Chen Zude and Zheng Minzhi, a table tennis player, became a popular story. When Chen Zude entered the Shanghai Sports Palace at the age of 15 to participate in go training, the one year younger was also there. Zheng Min's high nose and sharp chin, nicknamed "little swallow", immediately attracted Chen Zude. However, Chen Zude did not dare to express his feelings, nor did he contact Zheng Minzhi. Instead, he hid this favor for 11 years. It was not until the age of 26 that Chen summoned up the courage to write a love letter to Zheng Minzhi, who is already a sports star. On their first date, Zheng Minzhi, who wants to eat six bean popsicles at one go, melts Chen Zude's heart. In 1973, the two held a wedding on national day, holding a three table banquet of 30 yuan per table.
Later, they divorced for various reasons, and their only son worked in England. Chen Zude's second wife is Xia Caijuan, the nanny of his sister's family. She is very considerate of him. In 1995, Xia Caijuan gave birth to a pair of twin sons for Chen Zude: Tianyu and Tianning.
