Zheng ruozeng (1503-1570), a native of Kunshan in Ming Dynasty, was named Bolu and Kaiyang. He was a famous military strategist and strategist in the Ming Dynasty.
Life
The Zheng family of Kunshan first lived in Kunshan in the Song Dynasty. Zheng's family has been a doctor for generations, and has been the most famous in gynecology for nearly 900 years. The late Zheng Shaoxian, a famous gynecological expert in Kunshan Hospital of traditional Chinese medicine, is a descendant of Zheng's family. Zheng ruozeng's Gaozu, Zheng Wenkang, was a Jinshi of the Ming Dynasty in 1448. He was granted Dali temple and was listed in the five hundred sages' temple of Canglang Pavilion in Suzhou.
In his youth, Zheng ruozeng studied in Wei school, a great Confucian in Kunshan, and often compared his studies with GUI Youguang. Later, they married the two daughters of Wei Xiang, the younger brother of Wei school. In 1535 (the 14th year of Jiajing reign), Zheng ruozeng was a scholar at the age of 33. Later, he was recommended to study in Guozijian and became a Gongsheng. After losing his official career, he returned to his hometown and devoted himself to his studies. However, he has great ambition, all the astronomy, geography, mountains, seas and books are well read. Around 1550 (the middle period of Jiajing), the southeast coastal areas were frequently invaded by Japanese pirates, and the officers and soldiers were defeated one after another in the Anti Japanese war. At this time, the imperial court sent Hu Zongxian to be the commander in chief of the suppression of Japanese invaders, who recruited people of insight. Since Zheng ruozeng was good at talking about military affairs, he drew some coastal maps, published by Suzhou government, which were well known by Hu Gong. He recruited military staff to assist in the suppression of Japanese invaders. After that, Zheng ruozeng wrote a lot of works about the Anti Japanese War and took part in the Anti Japanese War personally. Zheng ruozeng didn't accept the royal court's award of royal robes because he had made great contributions to pingwo, and Zheng ruozeng didn't agree to Hu Gong's recommendation to repair national history.
Historical evaluation
Military experts from all over the world believe that Zheng ruozeng is undoubtedly the most important strategist in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. First, he was in the most rampant era of Japanese pirates. He used the knowledge of world geography to carry out in-depth and extensive research on Japan and its surrounding countries, formulated a series of strategies to resist Japanese pirates, and advocated the whole people to fight against Japanese pirates. Finally, he, together with Qi Jiguang and Tang Shunzhi, calmed down the Japanese pirates' rebellion. He was one of the famous militarists at that time. Secondly, his military works, such as the compilation of the Japanese map, the compilation of the preparatory chart, and the Jiangnan economic strategy, had a profound impact on later generations. The book of Japanese maps draws the map of Japan and the map of Japanese invaders. It introduces Japan's historical geography, language, the history of its relationship with China, Japanese ships, Japanese Swords, and Japanese techniques. In particular, the book "planning chart series" is widely spread, and even has great influence in Japan, Korea and other Asian countries. He opposed to holding the harbor and not daring to go abroad to fight against the enemy. He stressed that "the system of defending the sea, which is called coastal defense, must be suitable for the sea. He is an excellent military theorist who knows that "if you want to sail in the ocean, you must defeat it first." In order to ensure the long-term stability of the southeast coast in the middle and late Ming Dynasty, we formulated the strategy of attacking ships and then relying on firearms. It can be said that from 1562 (the 41st year of Jiajing) to the end of Qing Dynasty, no military work can surpass it.
Zheng ruozeng is not only knowledgeable, but also has outstanding moral character, which is highly respected by scholars in Jiangsu and Zhejiang. Although he was a cloth clother all his life, he realized his ambition of serving the country by personally participating in the war and writing military works.
