Huang Yongsheng
Huang Yongsheng (November 17, 1910 - April 26, 1983), formerly known as Huang Xuquan, was born in Xianning, Hubei Province. He was a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC and chief of the general staff of the PLA. He participated in Lin Biao's conspiracy to seize the supreme leadership of the party and the country. He was awarded the rank of general in 1955. He was expelled from the party in 1973. On January 25, 1981, the special court of the Supreme People's Court of the people's Republic of China confirmed that Huang Yongsheng was the principal criminal of Lin Biao and Jiang Qing's counter revolutionary group and sentenced him to 18 years' imprisonment and five years' deprivation of political rights.
On April 26, 1983, Huang Yongsheng died of illness while on parole in Qingdao.
Life of the characters
Born in Xianning County, Hubei Province on November 17, 1910. In June 1927, he joined the guard regiment of the general command of the second front army of the national revolutionary army. In September, he took part in the Autumn Harvest Uprising on the border between Hunan and Jiangxi, and went to Jinggangshan with the army. He joined the Communist Party of China in December. He was the platoon commander of the Fourth Army of the Chinese workers' and peasants' Red Army, the company commander of the 12th army of the Red Army, the battalion commander of the secret service battalion of the Central Revolutionary Military Commission, the head of the third regiment of the 1st division of the Red Army, and the division commander of the 2nd division of the Red Army. In 1933, he was awarded the third class Red Star Medal by the government of the Soviet Republic of China. During the Anti Japanese War, he served as the deputy commander and commander of the third division of the Jin Cha Ji military region of the Eighth Route Army, and the commander of the 2nd brigade of the Shaanxi Gansu Ningxia Jin Sui united defense army. During the war of liberation, he successively served as commander of Rehe military region and Reliao military region, commander of the 8th column of the Northeast Democratic Alliance Army, commander of the 45th army and deputy commander of the 14th and 13th corps of the Northeast Field Army, and participated in the battles of Liaoshen, Pingjin and Hengbao.
Since 1950, he has successively served as commander of the 13th corps, commander of the 15th corps and deputy commander of Guangdong military region, deputy commander of South China military region, Central South military region, and commander of Guangzhou Military Region. In 1953, he joined the war to resist US aggression and aid Korea and served as commander of the 19th corps of the Chinese people's Volunteer Army. He was elected as an alternate member of the Eighth CPC Central Committee in 1956. During the "Cultural Revolution", he served as chief of the general staff of the people's Liberation Army, President of the military and Political University, member of the Central Military Commission of the Communist Party of China, member of the ninth CPC Central Committee, member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee, and member of the third National Defense Commission. He participated in Lin Biao's conspiracy to usurp the supreme leadership of the party and the country, and created a series of unjust cases. He was dismissed in September 1971. He was expelled from the party in August 1973. On January 25, 1981, he was confirmed by the special court of the Supreme People's court as the principal criminal in the case of Lin Biao and Jiang Qing's counter revolutionary group. He was sentenced to 18 years' imprisonment and deprived of political rights for five years.
He died in Qingdao on April 26, 1983.

In 1955, he was awarded the rank of general, the first level of 81 medal, the first level of independent freedom medal and the first level of Liberation Medal.
