Wang Hailong

Wang Hailong (September 25, 1938 - September 9, 2017), female, from Changsha, Hunan Province, graduated from the Russian Department of Beijing Normal University in 1964, and then studied English in Beijing Institute of foreign languages. From July 1971 to May 1972, he served as deputy director of the Department of protocol of the Ministry of foreign affairs and participated in the reception of Kissinger's secret visit to China and Nixon's visit to China. From May 1972 to July 1974, he was Assistant Minister of foreign affairs in charge of protocol affairs. He was Vice Minister of foreign affairs of the people's Republic of China from July 1974 to February 1979. He has been deputy director of the Counselor's office of the State Council since April 1984.

On September 9, 2017, Wang Hairong died of illness in Beijing hospital at the age of 79.

On September 9, 1976, Mao Zedong died. On this day, Wang Hairong, like the staff working beside Mao Zedong, fell down in front of Mao Zedong's body and cried bitterly. An era is over, so is Wang Hailong's "golden age".

Personal life

Wang Hailong was born in an unusual educational family in Changsha, Hunan Province. Mr. Wang Jifan is a famous educator in Hunan Province.
