Pan Xiang
Pan Xiang, named Runzhang and Jingfeng, was born in donggaotian, Anxiang County in Qing Dynasty.
Profile
As a child, he was sensitive and eager to learn. He studied twenty four histories. In the sixth year of Qianlong (1741), he was selected as Bagong by the state examination, and went to the Imperial College for further study, which served as a school book of Wuying hall. Soon he was sent to Ryukyu to teach Chinese.
Character experience
Qianlong 25 (1760), participated in shuntianfu (now Beijing) rural examination. In the 28th year of Emperor Qianlong's reign, he was a Jinshi in the imperial examinations and appointed the magistrate of Fushan County in Shandong Province. He also took charge of the political affairs of Huang County and Sishui county. Soon after, he was transferred to Qufu county magistrate and promoted to Puzhou Prefecture magistrate. Every official pays attention to the construction of farmland, devotes himself to the cause of education, provides for the poor, praises the virtuous and virtuous, forbids superstition, and is good at listening to cases, and does not injustice the common people. In the 39th year of Qianlong's reign, the Qing government sent troops to suppress Wang Lun's uprising. Pan Xiangli remonstrated and exempted more than 100 old people and minors from death penalty. Some people falsely report that 3000 people in Puzhou "set up evil cults" and "conspired against others". On hearing the news, the governor of Shandong unified his troops to suppress. Regardless of the gains and losses of his reputation, pan Xiang rode to the governor's camp day and night to fight against the false and prevent the advance, so as to protect the prefectures and counties under his jurisdiction from the disaster of war. One year, there was a severe drought in Puzhou. He strictly prohibited petty officials from taking advantage of the opportunity to exploit and merchants from raising the market price. He also used state and county warehouses and social warehouses to accumulate 30000 stones to help the victims and make the people live and work in peace and contentment. In the 43rd year of Qianlong reign, pan Xiang mourned and returned home. In the 45th year of Qianlong's reign, he was granted the title of governor of Kunyang Prefecture in Yunnan Province. Tired of his official career, he soon returned home.
