Life of the characters
The era of the Bureau of military statistics
Mao Renfeng graduated from Hujiang University in his early years. Later, she was admitted to the fourth phase of Huangpu Military Academy. She was soon suspended due to illness.
In 1935, he joined the revival society of the Kuomintang and served as the chief of the first unit of the third section of the general office of Wuchang camp.
In 1938, he was the Chief Secretary of the investigation and Statistics Bureau of the Kuomintang military commission.
In 1946, he took over the post of director of the Bureau of investigation and statistics of the Military Commission of the national government (changed into the Security Bureau of the Ministry of national defense in 1947), and was mainly responsible for cracking down on the spy organizations of the Communist Party of China.
In 1949, before the KMT government withdrew to Taiwan, it executed a group of CPC members with Yang Jinxing and Zhou yanghao, including Yang Hucheng's family members and their minor children.
The era of Secrecy Bureau
In 1949, the Kuomintang government moved to Taipei City, Taiwan Province, and Chiang Kai Shek appointed Mao Renfeng as the director of the Bureau of secrecy. Mao Renfeng was regarded as one of the actual executors of this political activity.
In 1952, Mao bangchu case and Du Changcheng case happened one after another. Jiang Jingguo hated Mao Renfeng to the bone. Du Changcheng and Hu Lingying were shot. Chiang Ching Kuo began to reorganize intelligence and establish a modern spy system.
The age of Intelligence Agency
In 1955, the secret service was reorganized into an intelligence service that no longer eliminated espionage and security, and was subordinate to the Ministry of national defense of the Kuomintang. Mao Renfeng is still the first director of the intelligence agency of the Ministry of national defense. He is a second-class general, and basically has no real power. Mao Renfeng, who came back from treatment in the United States, was worried all day and cancer cells spread.

Anecdotes of characters
Extreme superstition
Mao Renfeng is extremely superstitious. She believes in fortune telling, physiognomy and geomancy. Pan Qiwu, the director of the office of the Secretary for security, has a great deal of research on the science of life. No matter where he finds a famous fortune teller, pan Qiwu always takes him to see Mao Renfeng. What Mao Renfeng says to the Alchemist is that he listens to what he says. In order to make up for the lack of fire in Mao Renfeng's five elements, the name Yiyan has been used for many years. In particular, Dai Li's pseudonym has been changed to death, and Mao Renfeng uses it everywhere.
After Dai Li's death, there were many relics, such as cars and houses. Mao Renfeng didn't use them at all. He thought it was bad luck to use Dai Li's relics. Dai Li's car was shared by Zheng Jiemin, Tang Zong and him. He gave the car to Zhang yanfo, Deputy Director Secretary. After the victory of the Anti Japanese War, Dai Li took over many high-class houses in Nanjing, Shanghai and other places. These houses were luxurious and comfortable. Mao Renfeng preferred to live in a humble place, to find a house by herself rather than Dai Li's house and office. The best office in the new juntong building was designed by Dai Li before his death, and Mao Renfeng didn't use it. Instead, he asked pan Qiwu to find a person who knew how to escape from the strange gate, and calculated a room with good location. Although the room was simple, he was still happy to use it.
When Mao Renfeng was promoted from deputy director to director, Zheng Jiemin vacated the director's office, while Mao Renfeng still worked in his original room. In other people's eyes, Mao Renfeng is regarded as simple and honest. The basic reason is superstition. He thinks Dai Li's things are bad luck. As for not moving to Zheng Jiemin's office, he thinks that his office is very smooth and he is afraid that he will lose good luck after moving.
Personality traits
In March 1946, Dai Li died in Dai Shan. Who led the investigation and Statistics Bureau of the Military Commission of the national government? Mao Renfeng, the spy, inherited Dai Li's mantle after some competition. Some people say that Mao Renfeng was not born in Huangpu Military Academy, nor was she a member of the founding of the military unification. She had never been a stationmaster in the field or a director in the internal service. It was a coincidence that she became the head of the military unification. Some people say that Mao Renfeng relies on Dai Li's classmates, fellow countrymen and relatives, and her prosperity depends entirely on Dai Li's support.
After her defeat in Taiwan, Mao Renfeng once revealed to a close friend that her secret of being an official was tolerance, waiting and ruthlessness. People say that Mao Renfeng is like a tortoise. What he takes is his flexible character. If Chiang Kai Shek takes off her shoes, she will help others to avoid trouble.
Juntong mainly deals with the Communist Party of China. For example, on November 14, 1949, Jiang Zhuyun, a member of the Communist Party of China, was killed by juntong agents in zhazidong concentration camp in Chongqing. He was only 29 years old. On the eve of Chongqing's liberation, Mao Renfeng created a dreary cave massacre that shocked the whole country. Soon after, he created a bloody massacre of Communists and the masses in Kunming, and planned an assassination of Yang Jie and others in Hong Kong. His ruthlessness exposed his ferocious face against the Communist Party.
