Personal experience
In 1924, Chiang Kai Shek presided over the preparation for the establishment of Huangpu Military Academy. Chen Guofu was in Shanghai to deal with the procurement of military goods and recruitment of talents. In 1926, Chen went to Guangzhou and was elected as the second central supervisory committee of the Kuomintang, and served as the acting Minister of the central organization department. At the beginning of April 1927, Wu Jingheng and Zhang Jingjiang, the Rightists in the Kuomintang, proposed the case of impeachment of the Communist Party to prepare for the later Qing Dynasty. In 1928, Chiang Kai Shek returned. Chen Guofu was a member of the national government and vice president of the supervisory yuan. In essence, he was responsible for the organization of the Kuomintang, sorting out party affairs and cleaning up the party. In addition to re examining the registration of National Party members, and began to set up an investigation organization, that is, later specifically responsible for the "central unification". In 1929, he served as executive member of the CPC Central Committee and vice minister of the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee. Second, Chen was in charge of the party affairs of the Kuomintang, which was known as "Chen's party under the control of the Jiang family". In 1932, Chen Guofu was the vice chairman of "Huaihe River guiding committee"; in 1933, he was also the chairman of Jiangsu provincial government, responsible for the regulation of Jiangsu and Huaihe River water conservancy. After the Anti Japanese War, the project stopped. The Xi'an incident shocked both at home and abroad, and a complicated situation immediately appeared in the whole country. After Jiang was put under house arrest by Zhang and Yang, he Yingqin led the Nanjing government, and Chen Lifu, Chen Guofu and Dai Jitao strongly advocated a military solution. After the peaceful settlement of the Xi'an Incident, the Shaanxi provincial authorities built a pavilion in Chiang Kai Shek's hiding place, named "Zhengqi Pavilion". Dai Jitao, Chen Cheng, Chen Guofu, Chen Lifu, Hu zongnan, Wei Lihuang, Wang Yaowu and other important figures of the Kuomintang successively wrote inscriptions in the pavilion to praise Chiang Kai Shek. After the victory of the Anti Japanese War, Chen served as the chief educator of the central political school.
Chen Guofu had been infected with pulmonary tuberculosis since the revolution of 1911, and he was often hospitalized with hemoptysis. During the Anti Japanese War, he had many operations. In December 1948, he moved to Taichung to recuperate. Chen Guofu has no children. Chen Lifu passes on his eldest son Chen zean to Chen Guofu.
In the middle of July 1950, Chiang Kai Shek ordered Chen Guofu to be removed from the post of director of the central finance committee, the "central cooperation treasury" (Chen Guofu was the chairman) and the "Farmers Bank of China" (Chen Guofu was the chairman) office to retain its name, thus eliminating the three economic pillars of the CC system. On July 26, Chiang Kai Shek announced the list of "members of the Central Committee for reform" and "members of the Central Committee for deliberation". Chen Guofu was named "members of the Central Committee for deliberation", just as a consolation. Chen Lifu was not named on the list. At the beginning of August, Chiang Kai Shek ordered the reorganization of the agricultural education film company (Chen Guofu was the chairman), which was taken over by Chiang Ching Kuo and cut off a major position of public opinion in the CC department. In this way, Chen Guofu was swept to the end by Chiang Kai Shek, and became a bare pole with no job and no right.
In early August 1950, Chen Lifu and his wife took a pair of children to visit Chen Guofu, who was ill. Chen Lifu's family is going to the United States. This visit is not only to see his brother, but also to say goodbye to him. Chen Lifu left Taiwan for the United States. Chen Guofu knew in advance and supported him very much. He believes that the current situation in Taiwan is one of mutual strife, cruelty and ruthlessness, which will bring unexpected disasters at any time. I know in my heart that I can't travel far because of my poor health. I don't know when my younger brother will be able to come back. Maybe this time we meet, it's yongjue. When Chen Lifu decided to go to the United States, Chiang Kai Shek sent someone to send 50000 US dollars, saying that it was to subsidize his travel expenses. With the 50000 yuan, Chen Lifu understood that Chiang Kai Shek wanted him to leave as soon as possible.
One year, the farmer's bank asked him to write an inscription. He wrote: "if you don't take a single article, it's clear; if you think carefully, it's cautious; if you work hard, it's diligent; if you pay attention to time, it's sensitive." Therefore, some people say that in the top ranks of the Kuomintang, although there are many people who are cautious, diligent and sensitive, there are few people who are as "clear" as Chen Guofu. After Chen Lifu left, Chen Guofu's family economy also had a crisis. The treatment of tuberculosis requires huge medical expenses. It has neither property nor previous status. The medical expenses are supported by friends, so it is difficult to use them. By this time, Chen Guofu's health had gone from bad to worse. As early as in the late period of the Anti Japanese War, the lung had been ulcerated, only in the back perforation, discharge pus from the perforation every day. On the eve of going to Taiwan, the disease worsened again, and the inflammation and pus behind it continued. After arriving in Taiwan, he invited famous doctors from Taiwan and Hong Kong for consultation, and his condition was under control for the time being. How can we solve the urgent problem? After thinking about it, Chen Guofu had no choice but to put down his airs and write a letter to Zhao Dihua, then president of Taiwan's Bank of communications, asking for his part-time travel expenses
President Zhao Junjian:
Since I came to Taiwan, I have been in poor health. I have spent many years of savings in medical treatment. Now I can't make ends meet. I'm very embarrassed. I've been a part-time chairman of the farmers bank for many years, and I've never received a penny for my fare. It used to be convenient to use the car, and I didn't plan to collect the fee. Now life is unsustainable, I would like to ask the farmer's Bank to pay me the fare I didn't get before, so as to solve the problem that I have a car and no oil. What do you think. Shun Wen
Jinqi!
Chen Guofu
After receiving the letter, Zhao Dihua promptly reported Chen Guofu's predicament to Chiang Kai Shek. After all, Chiang Kai Shek and Chen Guofu have been friends for many years. Chiang Kai Shek only forced Chen Guofu to hand over his power politically and did not want to kill him. He should still be taken care of in his life. So Chen Guofu was granted 5000 silver yuan as medical expenses. In addition, a sum of money was specially approved as Chen Guofu's daily living allowance. With this money, Chen Guofu was able to extricate himself from the economic crisis. In September, Chen Guofu's condition worsened, hemoptysis continued, and no medicine had much effect. It lasted more than a month before the disease was controlled. October 5 is Chen Guofu's 58th birthday. Chiang Kai Shek and Chiang Ching Kuo went to the hospital to see Chen Guofu. The arrival of Jiang's father and son surprised Chen Guofu. Chiang Kai Shek said with concern, "Goff, I've been very busy and didn't come to see you. How is your body recovering now? Do you use western medicine or traditional Chinese medicine? " Chen Guofu replied: "the doctor said that western medicine should be used first. When the symptoms are under control, traditional Chinese medicine should be used to tonify the body." The attending doctor standing by reported Chen Guofu's condition to Jiang. Chiang Kai Shek said, "well," then he said, "Guo Fu, you can take good care of yourself, and you won't think about anything else. If you have any financial problems, you can tell me directly. " After sitting for more than ten minutes, Chiang Kai Shek and his son left the hospital.
In January 1951, Chen Guofu moved from Taichung to Taipei, where he lived in an apartment building on Qingtian street. He died of lung disease in Taipei on August 25 of the same year. The news of Chen Guofu's death reached his father, Chen Qiye, in Taichung. At that time, Chen Qiye was 81 years old and lost his son. In spite of dissuasion, he rushed from Taichung to Taipei to attend the funeral. Seeing his son's face, Mr. Chen burst into tears. Chen Lifu, who was far away in the United States, did not return to Taiwan. For him, this left a permanent regret.
After learning the news of Chen Guofu's death, Chiang went to the funeral home twice to express his condolence. Looking at Chen Guofu's body, Jiang
