Early experience

Gao Xiumin was born in Siman Township, Fuyu City, Songyuan City, Jilin Province on January 28, 1959.

In 1974, Gao Xiumin went to local folk groups to sing Errenzhuan.

In 1977, the urban refinery propaganda team recruited actors. She sang a song "embroidered gold plaque", which was approved by the factory director. After that, she took her household registration and officially entered the factory.

In 1978, Gao Xiumin was not accepted by a regular literary and art group because she was too thin. Since then, following the local custom, she married and gave birth to a child. Later, she was admitted to Fuyu folk art troupe.

Acting experience

In 1982, she joined the Fuyu folk art troupe as an actress, known locally as "little Guo Lanying". She began to join a professional troupe to perform in the countryside.
