Hu Hua
Hu Hua (1921-1987), a famous Chinese historian, is an expert in the study of party history. His original name was Hu Jiahua. He participated in the establishment of the "National Research Association on the history of the Communist Party of China (later renamed the Chinese Society for the history of the Communist Party of China)" as the executive vice president. Hu Hua died of illness in Shanghai in December 1987.
Life of the characters
He was born in December 1921 in Fenghua, Zhejiang Province. He studied in Zhejiang Normal University in 1937. In 1938, he took part in the local Anti Japanese national salvation movement. In October, he went to Yan'an to study in Northern Shaanxi public school. He joined the Communist Party of China in February 1939. In the revolutionary team, he has gone through half a century's historical process of Northern Shaanxi public school, North China United University, North China University and Renmin University of China. He has been firmly engaged in the teaching and research of Marxist theory, Chinese revolutionary history and the history of the Communist Party of China all his life. He is one of the founders of the discipline of Chinese New Democratic Revolutionary History and the history of the Communist Party of China.
In October 1946, he served as deputy director of the Department of history and geography of North China United University. He attached great importance to the study of practical problems. In 1947, he opened a new course "the history of Chinese diplomacy" and published "the history of British and American imperialism invading China since Japan's surrender" and "the history of China's political situation since Japan's surrender" (editor in chief). After 1949, Hu Hua devoted himself to the study of Chinese revolutionary history. From 1950 to the early 1960s, he successively served as deputy director of the teaching and research section of Chinese revolutionary history, director of the teaching and research section of CPC history, and director of the Department of CPC history of Renmin University of China. After the Lin Biao incident, he returned to Beijing from Jiangxi May 7th cadre school in 1972 to serve as a consultant of the Chinese Revolutionary Museum; after the restoration of Renmin University of China in 1978, he successively served as chairman and honorary director of the Department of CPC history, doctoral supervisor, member of the CPC Central Committee's party history information collection Committee, member of the disciplinary review group of the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council, convenor of the political science group, and director of Chinese history He is the executive director of the society, the history editorial board member of Encyclopedia of China, the scientific socialism editorial board member and the editor in chief of "socialism in China Volume", the deputy director of the Title Evaluation Committee of Beijing Municipal Colleges and universities, and the vice president of Beijing history society. Main contributions
1. During the Anti Japanese War, in order to train the party's Anti Japanese cadres, the North China United University began to teach "the history of modern Chinese revolutionary movement" and combined with the needs of the battlefield behind the enemy, from theory to practice to teach the national conditions and the party's principles and policies. At the same time, he also serves as the team leader, Party branch and general branch. During this period, he often led the students to participate in the anti "mopping up" struggle with the local guerrillas, and traveled all over the Hengshan area of Beiyue;
2. After the victory of the Anti Japanese War, he served as vice minister and Minister of Publicity Department of Zhangjiakou Federation of trade unions. He has excellently guided and organized the workers in Zhangjiakou in their anti traitor struggle and production competition. From the practice of leading the construction of new liberated cities and the workers' movement, this paper summarizes and studies the experience;
3. In October 1946, Hu Hua returned to the North China United University as Deputy Secretary of the general Party branch and deputy director of the Department of history and geography. In 1947, he took part in the land reform movement in Shulu County, Hebei Province. In April 1948, he served as the leader of the teaching group of CPC History in North China University. Under the direct leadership of Wu Yuzhang and Cheng Fangwu, he was engaged in the teaching of CPC history and the compilation of teaching materials. At the same time, he began to serve as Wu Yuzhang's academic assistant.
In order to train Party cadres quickly and welcome the birth of new China, Hu Hua compiled teaching materials and taught the history of the Communist Party of China. In March 1950, he officially published the first draft of the history of China's new democratic revolution. The book has been published in 13 editions (Times) and millions of volumes, with translations in Japanese, Korean, Uighur, Kazakh and other languages, and has had a great influence at home and abroad. At the same time, the reference materials for the history of the new democratic revolution, edited by him, has published hundreds of thousands of volumes, and has also become a best seller at that time (the income from royalties is proposed by Hu Hua in the name of three people - the other two are his scholars) Dai Yi and Yanqi donated a plane to resist US aggression and aid Korea;
4. Take part in leading the establishment of the Department of CPC History in Renmin University of China, and edit the lecture notes of Chinese revolutionary history; according to the requirements of the central education and publicity department, train talents for the national theoretical propaganda and education front, and provide teaching materials for the courses of Chinese revolutionary history and CPC History in Colleges and universities;

From 1950 to the early 1960s, he successively served as deputy director of the teaching and research section of Chinese revolutionary history, director of the teaching and research section of CPC history, and director of the Department of CPC history. He was named associate professor in 1950 (29 years old) and professor in 1956. He is also a member of the academic committee of the Institute of modern Chinese history of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and deputy head of the modern Chinese history group of the Chinese history society;
Under the personal leadership of Zhou Enlai, director of the learning committee of the first National Committee of the Chinese people's Political Consultative Conference, he participated in organizing the theoretical study of CPPCC members;
6. After the liberation of the whole country, in order to meet the needs of all walks of life and colleges and universities in New China, educational lectures on the party's history, principles and policies were given to cadres and students;

After the Lin Biao incident, in 1972, under the instruction of Premier Zhou, he returned to Beijing from Jiangxi May 7th cadre school to serve as the consultant of the Chinese revolutionary museum. In the investigation of many major historical issues, he tried his best to resist the lies of Lin Biao and the gang of four, and insisted on seeking truth from facts and being straightforward. After smashing the gang of four, he took the lead in breaking through the forbidden area in the party history circle and bringing order out of chaos. In order to restore the true face of the party's history and safeguard the scientific and pure nature of the party's history, he made speeches around tirelessly.
